After being around a lot of Auburn fans during the Sugar Bowl, I'd say it is plenty hot.

There's been some significant changes since then. Mostly related to the QB situation and the playcalling. He can't afford to lose to LSU, UGA and Alabama again, though.

His seat isn't hot at all. He convinces the fanbase every year that they are a young team and the next few seasons will be special. They eat that shite up. Then Jacobs will give him an extension and raise. It's the Auburn way to reward mediocrity in their football program.

So who is his replacement?

Keep in mind, the last AU hire that came outside of the "family" was Bowden in 1993

10-2 with more losses to Georgia and Alabama will have my Auburn friends ready to pull the trigger.

Hard to fathom him having a season that will actually result in losing his job, though.

He would probably be a good coach if he learned to keep his finger out of his noise! Can see the game for his finger!

And before Saban, Bama's hires outside the family was Curry and Price. Will they revert back to old times and hire Dabo ?

Um, Tuberville?

So 2 of the last 5 coaches were from the so called family.

Right now I think he is good mainly because of changes he made in the offseason in bringing in a real OC and working to improve the QB situation.

While we looked like keystone cops at times last season, the prevailing opinion is it was due to having bad QB play and bad play calling and so far it looks like he has worked to improve both of those so that has bought him time.

That being said, it would likely only take one game like the Clemson game last year to change that opinion.

He's made good changes but they need to result in wins especially over LSU, UA, and UGA. Lose to all 3 again and look badly doing it and he's in trouble with the fans, but I don't see Jacobs firing him.
