Also, from Florida's website:

On Wednesday, June 11, 2008, the Division of Licensing began issuing concealed weapon licenses that are valid for seven years.

This increase in the valid term of the concealed weapon license is the result of Governor Charlie Crist having signed Senate Bill 948 into law. This legislation also enacted statutory language stipulating that a person must be a RESIDENT of the United States AND either a CITIZEN or a PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIEN in order to qualify for the concealed weapon license.

Please note that the new law is not retroactive. The law applies only to licenses issued on or after June 11, 2008, the date on which the law took effect. (This includes applications for NEW or RENEWAL licenses that our Division had received prior to June 11 but that were pending issuance when the legislation became law.)

Please also note that this increase in the period of time during which a license is valid comes with no additional increase in fees. NEW and RENEWAL license fees remain unchanged.

I think you misread what I typed (or I just wasn't very clear). I said states like Florida, Louisiana, etc allow their residents to carry their loaded guns inside of their vehicles without possessing any type of a CCP. If I didn't have a concealed permit here in Florida, I could still carry my loaded pistol around with me inside my truck everywhere I go. It was stated above that that's illegal in Alabama, that's why I was surprised to hear that, especially since yall allow open carry (without a permit).

one of our players. This guy is a huge AU man. I trust him. He has a friend who's son is an AU police officer. Second time this week that the officer has been called to this particular location. Do not want to go into further detail for obvious reasons. Not looking for details because I received an earful. Just checking to see if anyone else has heard anything?

Florida is only one of about 10 states that don't permit OC

I didn't realize that many states allowed it. I know many of the western and northwestern states allow it, but didn't realize 40 states did. Damnit Florida, get with it (not that I'd open carry, but still)

ahhh.. I did misread. I thought you meant no permit at all. I am surprised that in your vehicle is allowed and not covered under a CCP though. Personally, if you can purchase one legally, I don't feel you should have to purchase a permit to carry it in any manner you choose to. As far as where, I can understand limitations.

Here's a map from opencarry.org that shows the various states and their stance on OC.

thanks for the map. That's crazy Tejas doesn't allow open-carry.....that's the gun-toting, cowboy capital of the world. I wonder what the rural OC for cali means? I'm sure they're very strict about that, maybe on your own ranch or something. Do you know what the difference between Gold Star OC and OC friendly is?

Now if Dyer is found to have a more intricate knowledge of said heist, would he be banned from the Football team and if so, how quick does bama go after him?

From what I understand you can OC in Cali but the pistol has to be unloaded and the cops are allowed to stop you and check that it is unloaded.

I'm not completely sure but they said Alabama didn't get the Gold Star b/c you're not allowed to OC in your car without a permit
