Cam Newton and Nick Fairley. This much we know. They were the best players on that team and that's why they won the Heisman and the Lombardi.
But that doesn't mean you can just dismiss everyone else. They weren't just role players. They actively contributed and we needed just about every single one of them throughout the year.
Look at Darvin Adams. How many times did his clutch catching ability bail us out? Not to mention his blocking which allowed O-Mac to run free. I can go on and on about how each player contributed in a crucial way down the stretch. Cam Newton was a freak of nature and we wouldn't have won more than nine games without him, but the national title was a team effort.

Best run D in the SEC

That was a very, very important factor in the championship run. We all know that most SEC teams live and die by the offensive rush attack. And Zach Clayton was very quietly one of the best defensive tackles in the SEC that year. Hardly any has heard of him, but he was drafted, and drew many double teams away from Nick Fairley.
And above all that, it made teams one-dimensional in the 2nd half of games....which is why so many QBs got carried of the field when they played us.

That team was and always will be identified by a single player: Cam Newton. He was that team. Nick Fairley also deserves credit but that crystal football should be in Cam Newton's house because it really is his and his alone.
Cool. I know you are trying to use this as an insult but the fact of the matter is we went 14-0 and had the biggest comeback in history in your house. Cam played a huge part but it wasn't all him in that game and you frickin know it.

2010 Auburn. And I am a Bama fan.
But 2011 Bama would beat 2010 Auburn for sure.

You seem to forget the injury bug went in dry on Alabama that year. Ingram Richardson and sometimes Julio were stuck on the bench for a while

Alabama was a much more complete team.
Auburn 2010, by the end of the season they were actually pretty good, but they completely sucked through the first 1/3 of the year really.
Bama wins, unless they pull a 2010 Bama and turn the ball over a ton of course.

The only legit Bama NC team as far as I'm concerned is the 2009 team (who Auburn nearly beat). The SEC peaked in 2010 and has since given rise to the likes of Vandy and Ole Miss
2010 Auburn played a tougher schedule with a NCAA scandal overshadowing their every step. They're the last team to play a "real" SEC schedule and go undefeated. Just like in 2004, we brought attention to how brutal the SEC was and how difficult it was to go undefeated . . . Basically we put the SEC on our back - but y'all ain't heavy

Depends on how fast Gus realizes Saban is reading the play signals as they are being called in. If he changes it before the game Auburn by 3 TDs. If he doesn't change up until halftime like 2010 then Auburn by at least a TD considering what JFF did to them in 2012.

2004 Auburn was better than 2010 Auburn so...2004 Auburn would win.

2004 Auburn vs. 2012 Bama would be an epic matchup.

The West in 2012 is nasty. How the hell can you possibly think it was better in 2010?
Because it was better in 2010. Much better to be exact.
In the 2010 West 4 teams won 10+ games and 5 finished ranked in the top 15. Only one team, Ole Miss, was terrible (not nearly as terrible as 2012 Arkansas and Auburn).

Both led the nation in scoring defense...first one to 10 wins.
