They are rated properly because of the Auburn teams that came before and after them.

2008: 5-7
2009: 8-5
2011: 8-5
2012: 3-9

that makes no sense.

No way. Bama would have dog stopped Oregon.

We averaged 38 points per game on offense while the defense only gave up around 10 points per game. It was the first team in Alabama history to score 500+ points in a single season. While the defense wasn't as good as 2011's, they still managed to shut out 4 opponents and came dangerously close to shutting out two others (Florida Atlantic and Mississippi State).

2012 Alabama was a very good team.

Disagree.

2012 > 2009. Better offense with a (statistically) better defense.

It makes perfect sense. The 2010 Auburn national championship season was a fluke made possible by a single player. That's why everyone "underrates" them.

Settle down brother. Undefeated seasons aren't flukes. Undefeated seasons in the SEC West damn sure aren't flukes.

Realizing their season was in the line down 21-0 or whatever on the road sure as frick wasn't a fluke(should have been 34-0 )

That team had the essentials. Great QB. Very good lines. A few stars. And guys hungry enough to get the rest of the work done.

Oh no doubt, except we won the SEC and an NC, and beat the shite out everyone on our schedule not named LSU, TAMU, or UGA, and only lost 1 game. Seems pretty great to me.

According to Auburn fans, they would since they had a better record in 2010.

According to everyone capable of independent thought, Bama wins.

2010 AU

IMO, 2010 Bama was better than 2012 Bama. The SEC west was better in 2010 as well.

My ranking would be as follows:

2011 Bama
2010 AU
2010 Bama
2012 Bama

And beat a team that was better than 2012 bama, namely 2010 bama.

I just dont see this. Our defense was better in 2012, and our offense was significantly better in 2012. The difference between the SEC West in those years isnt great enough for me to think that 2010 was better than 2012.

I'm not an AU fan, and I say Auburn wins this game. The opponents they played were probably better than the opponents Bama played last year.

This might be a good thread by itself. Idk if I agree. In your situation you have to exclude Auburn.

Alabama lost 2 other games not counting the one to Auburn. Plus A&M was a huge addition. Ole Miss and Miss St were uhm...full of spunk last year...?

How were they in 2010?

Bama's 2012 offense was infinitely better and the 2012 defense was, at least statistically, better.

And you still needed an epic comeback to beat an inferior team by 1 point.

That team was and always will be identified by a single player: Cam Newton. He was that team. Nick Fairley also deserves credit but that crystal football should be in Cam Newton's house because it really is his and his alone.

You are kidding right?

For starters, almost every single person that contributed anything to that 2010 run graduated or got kicked off the team before 2011. And in 2008 most of the contributors were freshmen and that season sucked because of coaching more than anything.
