Just because it is a rebuilding year doesn't mean AU has to lay down. I just don't think AU has much confidence in either Trotter or Mosley. It seems to me they would have already named a starter.

Neither are even close to the caliber of QB that Wilson is. He would be perfect to have for a year while Frazier learns and redshirts.

LSU is also in the hunt! I guess Jefferson hasn't improved that much from last year ?

I laughed....

I think the gig is up on play 36. I look for them to change that play to #43, just to throw off the defenses...

i'm a student at unc and thrilled to see russell leave. he absolutely tore us up three years in a row

just a playmaker, he did some amazing things with very little talent around him

he will be a HUGE pick up for whoever he chooses

As much as people make fun of play 36, I actually like the concept. I think coaches can sometimes make things waaay too complicated for the players. It is true that when you are thinking you are not playing.

Its just a simplified system for play calling. Nothing more. Its made out to be some unreal complicated system. It is probably less complex.

A lot was made of this about CAM for nothing.

I've never understood why the NFL hasn't adopted a more simplistic play calling system.

Wilson is considering LSU too. I put our chances at 2%.

We don't need a 6th scholarship QB for this season .

The NFL is also one of the most rigid systems on the planet, it is very resistant to change. "that'll never work in the NFL" and Miami's wildcat ran all over the NFL. "a QB can't run in the NFL" and Vick has shown it can be used effectively when done smart. The NFL is very resistant to change because people are afraid of being fired, you have a lot of inbreeding when it comes to offensive ideology; ie. someone gets fired from one program and hired at another.

I would put our chances of getting him as slim, for Auburn. Auburn put stipulations that if he could make summer practice they'd be open to the idea of him coming in and competing. I think this would be a big mistake on Auburn's part, he will be here for 1 year and be gone Trotter will likely transfer out as well as Mosley, which will leave us with just KF and him. Just a bad decision. I understand Auburn coach's idea behind this as Trotter is not giving 100% right now but this has bad idea written all over it.

On offense, that is true.

On defense, the NFL has some of the best, most innovative coaches you can find. They have to be considering how the NFL Rules Committee changes the rules to stop them more and more very year.

I do agree on defense they are very good and innovative, on offense teams are very rigid and dislike making drastic changes.

only if it doesn't work. I just don't see how having a paragraph to call a play is a more efficient system then a number or just a few words.

This

He destroyed a very good UNC defense every year and at one point either broke or came close to most pass attempts without an interception in NCAA history. An amazing stat considering how much Wilson threw the ball rolling out down the field.

Put him on a team with recievers who don't drop ten passes a game and he's going to be scary good. I'm willing to bet the people on here saying they don't think Wilson is that great, he won't win an SEC job, or he'll get dominated by SEC defenses actually have never watched Wilson play or have seen very little of him. This guy isn't your average freshman or sophomore quarterback at auburn

I'm all in favor for it. Let him compete with Trotter and Mosely, and if he wins the job, next year we still have Trotter and Mosely, and potentially Frazier might be ready to get some snaps.

You can never have enough quality depth at QB.

Moseley would definitely transfer out of AU if Wilson transferred in. With that said, I highly doubt Wilson ends up at Auburn.

Which IMO would be a loss, he is more talented than people think and I would not be shocked to see him start this fall, not saying he will just saying it wouldn't surprise me.

I'll deal with that loss because we have Frazier and Pike in the fold after Trotter is gone.
