Cam Newton also wasn't one year removed from high school and was pretty much fully physically developed when he stepped foot on campus last year.

If you don't understand the topic, don't comment. Russell Wilson is a senior QB and all ACC performer.

AU needs a game manager this season...not Masoli 2.0.

Masoli was a 1 hit wonder on a gimmick offense. Wilson is a 3 year starter and All-ACC performer who is a great fit for Malzahn's system. Landing him would mean at least 2 more wins in my opinion.

AU does not have the defense or offensive line to win football games with a game managing offense.

Russel Wilson threw for 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last year on only a 58% completion rating. Imagin if he could get that up to 62 or 64%. Kid is a gamer with experience, if AU turns him away they must know something about Trotter or Mosley that I don't

He was a 3-year starter, graduated in 3 years, has one year of eligibility remaining and can play right away at any D1 school as a grad student. Whoever gets him will be getting a solid player who can create something out of nothing when he needs to. He'd be ESPECIALLY valuable to a team that is lacking experience under center... cough, cough, Auburn, cough, cough...

They will threaten to go public with their AU salary if Wilson steps in line in front of them.

i said in the other thread about AU and Wilson that this would be a fantastic pick up. IMHO Ruseel Wilson is the best QB in the ACC and though he's not a physical runner like Cam he'd bring an even better passing game if the AU line can hold up and their receiveing corp is up to the task. I really doubt he would be able to run nearly as much as Cam but boy would it be fun to watch Malzahn adapt the offense to him. I think that would prove if Malzahn is really that good which i happen to think he is

kind of true, so long as he goes for a graduate degree not offered by the place he played undergrad

They probably realize that at some point they need to start a QB that will play more than one year. IMO it does no good to bring this kid in for one season and gain little to no experience for the other 3 QBs. Everyone knows this is a rebuilding year for au and no one expects then to defend the title. Why not start one of the QBs there now and let them play a few seasons and grow with the offense rather than bring in a one season QB and maybe win a couple more games?

Why would teams be interested in a kid that has 1 month to learn the play book before the 1st game rolls around? Must be Gus' 1-2 read offense and run.

It just doesn't make sense. Is he a good player? Yes. However, he would look like a really bad player when he's on the field not knowing what to do and where his reads were in the offense. Just not a good idea IMO.

Just because it is a rebuilding year doesn't mean AU has to lay down. I just don't think AU has much confidence in either Trotter or Mosley. It seems to me they would have already named a starter.
