Texas A&M can be a dangerous team IF Sumlin realizes that he needs to pull back the reigns on offense so that he can field a complete team. This means an emphasis on running the ball... something y'all have gotten away from in recent years.

The drop-off from the 1s to the 2s on y'alls defense is astronomical. If Sumlin expects to win, he needs to give the starters more than 3 minutes of game time between defensive series.

Chavis is the only good coach they've had since Bo Pelini and we took him because we could. Drives them nuts and we like to remind them of this fact.

We take many of the best recruits in Texas because we can. Drives them nuts and we like to remind them of this fact.

Meh. TCU had a wide open offense and it worked. Balance is important, but y'all's narrative is dumb and out of butthurt of losing Chavis.

It used to be legit:

(from '76 annual)

Now, it's mostly just message board ranting. A&M needs to win a few before the "rivalry" can take off.

Some young cats probably don't know this story of this recruitment.

Harvey is a good point. To the best of my recollection the angst over that recruitment in the days long before social media far outweighed the Speedy Noil hubbub - which was considerable here.

There is no rivalry when one team wins every year.

Cue the "it was no rivalry in the '90s, either" chorus from A&M.

A&M is the most deluded fanbase in America. They are inferior culturally and academically to big bro in Austin, they have a tradition of bizarre homoerotic rituals that are frankly laughable and deserving of scorn and ridicule, and an athletics department that can never- NEVER - win the big one when it counts. Their fanbase is truly the most arrogant I have ever come into contact with and the hilarious, tragic irony is they have truly nothing to be proud of.

They have had a longer history of playing each other than I had thought with a long series in the 80s/90s.

man, we played the aggies a lot longer than that. we played them every year in the 60's and 70's. played Baylor every year too. both had to come to baton rouge because they just didn't draw many fans. the aggies were lucky to draw 30 or 40 thousand fans in those days and often quite less. I remember somehow getting unlucky and attending a game in college station in the late 60's and basically the corp of cadets were the only ones in the stands. add a few of the opposing fans and parents of players and the attendance was probably less than 15,000.

we beat them pretty much every year until we had that massive down cycle in the 90's with poor HC decisions. of course, as their history proves, they were cheating and got caught (as usual).

We are better than LSU. We are upper crust. You are lolpoors.
Deal with it and stop dick-riding our former non-rivals.

You act like Aggies are entitled or something, but I grew up near there and didn't go to the local school. I used like y'all until you joined the SEC and now you think your shitt doesn't stink. Don't worry, I still live near, and your shitt does stink like everyone else's.

Y'all are still butthurt about Texas & Baylor refusing to play, so you use the overused card that you are better than everyone else because of the SEC.

How about all 20,000 empty seats at kickoff last Thanksgiving?? I was there -- I saw it. While living there, I sometime drove down Wellborn during the game and could see the 3rd deck almost empty -- and that was just 4 years ago.

So quit acting like the high and mightly and that the whole state of Texas gives a rats behind about you, because most of us in Texas that didn't get our education in College Station could care less.

Talk to a couple of the posters on this board like KaiserSoze and get back to me.

There have been Ags in here running around searching for any possible way to soothe their hurt butts since your boys joined the SEC.

THIS^^^

Aggies think it's funny, LSU fans are MAD. It really bothers them that they can't get to us about 4-0.

I for one welcome our Cajun overlords.

In reality it's their fear that we will eventually overtake them and they can't fathom that. Most of the younger LSU fans seem to forget that they sucked for a while. Hats off to the LSU program for the success they have had the last 15 years but it's created a generation of fans that are spoiled. Some would argue that every fan should expect excellence every year. That's delusion at its finest. Every team goes through good and bad runs. The smart LSU fans (insert joke here) see that decline coming.
