Hand picked by Archie
Boone and chancellor Dan Jones announced the initiation of a committee to conduct a “national search” for both a head coach and an athletic director, a process that was going to be co-chaired by none other than Archie Manning.
The selection of Manning to lead the charge meant that previously locked doors would now be open, that no stone would be left unturned to find the best man to rebuild the Rebel program, as it was when playing football at Ole Miss meant academic achievement, athletic excellence and—most importantly—competing for SEC championships.
Departing AD Pete Boone developed a reputation within the coaching community as a know-nothing micromanager without management skills. It was hotly—and publicly, thanks to a collection of Ole Miss supporters (maybe) known as Forward Rebels—debated whether or not Boone could find a suitable replacement for Nutt as the disaster continued to build in Vaught-Hemingway stadium this last season.
Manning and Glenn—who, by the way, had a preexisting personal relationship with Freeze—have talked a lot in the last 24 hours about Freeze’s “it” factor.
Freeze himself talked about “it” in the presser on Monday, though his is a decidedly different type of “it.”
Whatever “it” is, “it” is why Manning, et al. chose Freeze and created a highly suspect hiring process that doesn’t pass the smell test and produces more cynicism than an Occupy Wall Street kumbaya.
Wherever “it” is, Freeze better find “it," mass produce “it” and make his new team—whose double-digit conference losing streak was stopped only by this season’s end—breath, eat and sleep “it.”
Otherwise, the “it” is going to hit the fan and end up all over Archie Manning’s reputation.
FedEx guy was the co-chair on Archie's search committee.

They have been very untruthful and deceiving to the public through much of this shite storm. So, who knows what's actually included in the amended NOA and what OM will appeal or accept when they get their day in front of the COI?
True

Another said that with the allegation of lack of institutional control, that brings into the play the academic fraud allegations going back to Nutt's days, as it was the same administration for the most part.
Huh? We've had two new chancellors, a new AD, and obviously a new football coach since then.

There is also the new NCAA rule, proposed & endorsed by the H.C.'s that a H.C. is responsible for any & all acts occurring under his watch, cut & dried, no wiggle room.
Wrong. HC Responsibility shifts the burden of proof. It takes away plausible deniability for the HC who now has to prove they "promoted an atmosphere of compliance". It's very vague language, precedent is key.

This would be the first test case as to how serious the H.C.'s mandate will be taken by the NCAA. W
Also wrong. Jim Boheim was suspended under this rule. Louisville and Rick Pitino are currently disputing a violation under this rule.

Worth a trip over to his article in S.I.
This is correct, it's best article I've seen written on the subject. I'd suggest you read it.

At the end of the day 15 Level 1 Violations, a charge of LOIC and Dereliction of Duty basically by your head coach. For gosh sakes HE was at a recruits house with a booster. How are you going to overcome that fact?
I know its nice to try and put a good spin on it and try to be half glass full but its going to be a glass that is fully empty just like your teams line up in 2-3 years when the COI is done.

The staff had a booster present during a recruiting visit. I would love to hear their explanation of this one.

Ole Miss fans in this thread just took the biggest L in the SEC for 2017. Try again next year.

Now, OM will "try" to argue that the guy wasn't a booster but obviously the NCAA feels differently. All OM had to do was run the guy through Compliance and get clearance directly from the NCAA prior to allowing him to provide transportation and attend functions with recruits on behalf of OM.

OXFORD, Miss. -- Hugh Freeze tried his best to strike a tone of optimism in a Tuesday afternoon news conference. The defiance in his voice had long since left the 47-year-old coach of Ole Miss and a somber reality seemed to have set in one week after the university received a new NCAA notice of allegations and announced a self-imposed one-year bowl ban.
A more somber tone
They are going to kick a man while he is down.

They can not accept the lack of institutional control, no one can. It's give NCAA carte Blanche to do whatever the fricks it wants including the death penalty. But more importantly to ole miss administration they will all have to be fired and then untouchable. They could end up on the streets like white professor who lied about being black. Even if they don't get show cause order they are fricked. They will do anything to keep that shite from happening. Including serve uo Freese head on a platter
This needs to be emphasized more. They HAVE to fight that lack of IC charge. No one ever accepts it

Anyone with any sense has known that if a tape of her talking money existed, it would have leaked a long time ago.

This alleged tape will go the same way the Cecil Newton tapes went....they don't exist.
This is a diversion tactic used by the guilty party trying to steer attention away from the MULTIPLE infractions that are piled up outside of the Leo Lewis issue.

The tape isn't an official University ploy.
It was fabricated by the OM Scout site to draw attention away from the subscribers who were furious at being lied to, regarding the investigation. Nobody ever heard of a tape until Barney was fired, after the Reb faithful were repeatedly told that Barney was as sound as a pound.

Ok, I'm gonna splain, ok?
Ok, first we was at his house ok? Well , we weren't really at his house but we was like near it ok? And then, see, then we was all sitting on the couch, ok? But we wasn't really on the couch. It was......it was his buddy house ok?
So then we sat on this thing that looked like a couch but it wasn't really a couch ok?
Ok so then Coach Freeze buddy got his money out. Ok not really money but it was like green paper ok? And then that football guy grabbed that paper. Yeah, that's what happened, We was robbed.

And just like that, SpiritChuck (OMs Scout leader) goes on record and tells the public that he has heard the tape and that Leo's mother names names and dollar amounts.

Danny Sheridan knew the name of the AU bagman too.
This will turn out the same way.

Every person on the Spirit who claims knowledge of the tape also claims different schools involved.
So far, I've counted claims against MSU, Bama, LSU, and Georgia. Seems like everybody who listened to the tape heard something different
