I supported Nutt until his last 3 years at Arkansas, but the drama continued to get worse with each season. He was\is a good players coach and motivator, but his managment and people skills are on par with Michael Scott. For me personally Bobby Petrino is a better fit to coach my Alma Mater and I like the direction he has the program going currently.

lets compare the last 3 years between Nutt and Petrino...

See the improvement each year we hogs are having under Petrino...That is called building something.

See the decline the rebels are having each year under Nutt....That is called tearing something down.

Now who would you rather have?

That. Still. Does. Not. Answer. The. Question.

I'm talking about NUTT AT ARKANSAS vs. PETRINO AT ARKANSAS.

OLE MISS DOES NOT HAVE A frickING THING TO DO WITH THIS GOD frickING DAMN Y'ALL CAN'T READ.

Take a gander at the standings from this year in the SEC. How's it feel to be below the hogs in pecking order?

Petrino took the smoldering train wreck that Nutt left and has us in the Sugar Bowl in year 3 with about 2/3's of the team being his. We seem to be trending upwards. Next year will be a true gauge to see how good we are because it will be about 90% his players.

In year three with Nutt we went 6-6 and lost to UNLV in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Pardon us for getting excited that we played Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl instead of UNLV in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Petrino >>> Nutt

I don't care who ya are or how you try and spin the question.

Once again, bowl bids are determined by TWO things: how well your team played and how well the REST OF THE CONFERENCE played. Since the SEC East sucked balls this year and Auburn got the BCS Bowl Bid, Arkansas gets the Sugar Bowl. In 2007, you WON THE WEST with a 7-1 record (better than this season's 6-2) and were passed up for a Sugar Bowl bid by a good Georgia team.

Thank heavens, a normal answer. I definitely agree with the people management issue and I am really turned off by Nutt's insistence on keeping the staff he has even if they underperform. I do think Nutt is a better recruiter whereas Petrino is a better schemer and practicer. On gameday in a vacuum though... I dunno.

What did Bobby Petrino do exactly that got you that Sugar Bowl bid? Please, I'd love to hear it.

I feel like you're not SERIOUSLY serious so I'm going to leave this alone. Deep down, you know Petrino >>>> Nutt.

Good record for Ole Miss. However, most of these bowls came in the 50's and 60's. They have been to 5 bowls the last 10 years. quit living in the past(way far past) black bears.

We've won 8 out of our last 9 Bowl games, all of which have occurred in the past 20 years. What the hell are you talking about?

I am happy for y'all re: the Sugar Bowl, I really am. I'm a bit jealous too. But I just don't see how this season > 2007 or how Coach Petrino can do any better than he is doing right now. This may be the acme of his success at Arkansas, especially with Nick Saban coaching at Alabama for the forseeable future.

Totally understandable.

Nutt currently has the Ole Miss fan base split, the slight majority still believe he is the right fit for HC at OM (for at least 1 more year).

This thread should have nothing to do with OM tho FWIW HTH

This is not the best Petrino can do at Arky.

Wait till we have a mobile QB.

No, it's a question that seemingly nobody is able to answer.

I think there are plenty of aspects of Petrnio that are better than the same of Nutt. Hell, after we fired Cutcliffe, I wanted to hire Petrino. I don't think he's a bad coach, nor do I think Nutt is a particularly good one, but I do not think Petrino is going to do any better at Arkansas than Nutt did re: SEC West Titles, bowl wins, etc.

i will give that to you. the record in that period is good. just saying that less than 1/3 of your bowls have been since '90. nothing really to hang your hat on.
eta: of those bowls since '90, the best bowl you've played in is the Cotton. And you've beaten such powers as Marshall, Air Force, and Texas Tech
