Son you could have saved a lot of time and effort if you had just announced that you want the SEC to go back to being a second tier conference. Being a medium sized frog in a small pond is better then being a medium sized frog in a big pond I suppose.

If you want to drag the SEC back there, Mazel Tov, but I think you might find the conference might not be thrilled with that idea.

I'm actually proud of our all time record vs Texas considering it was while in a crooked conference against a crooked program.

They obviously aren't happy, as evidenced by their fanbase being one of a handful who are still constantly discussing "conference realignment" and stalking other conference boards.

I sense a strong need for a box of Kleenex, a mirror, some testosterone and better research skills.

In that case, how about 4 12 team super conferences:
North:
Ohio St, Michigan, Mich St, Indiana, Penn St, Notre Dame

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Mizzou

South:
LSU, Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama

Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Florida St, Tennessee, Kentucky

East:
Syracuse, Boston College, Pitt, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland

Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, NC St, Miami, Virginia

West:
Washington, Wazzou, Oregon, Oregon St, Cal, Stanford

USC, UCLA, Colorado, Texas Tech, Arizona St, Zona

Purdue, Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Utah, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, etc all get left out.

That leaves 4 conferences to rise from the rubble as the next tier:
North:
Rutgers, Cincinatti, UConn, Temple, Army, Ohio

Kansas, K-St, Iowa St, Northwestern, Purdue, Tulsa

South:
Ole Miss, Miss St, Vanderbilt, Memphis, La Tech, Tulane

Houston, TCU, SMU, Baylor, Rice, OK St

East:
Duke, UCF, USF, So. Miss, Georgia Tech, East Carolina

Old Dominion, Marshall, W. Kentucky, Louisville, Navy, Wake Forest

West:
Hawaii, Fresno St, San Diego St, Nevado, UNLV, New Mexico

Utah, BYU, Colorado St, Boise St, Wyoming, Air Force

What, the $300M gift ESPN gave UT?

A city prohibiting the fans of two teams from interacting for several years because of shootings and assaults is just history. It's a fact.

You are conflating two issues: keeping foot traffic moving downtown and the fact that they kept Texas and Oklahoma fans separate in jail (they said there were orange and red bars in the city slammer that delineated where the arrested fans were kept, but I never confirmed).

That is all long gone because people are too lazy to walk unless they have to.

Only people who would want West Virgina in the SEC would be West Virgina fans

And just how your fans change the line in the fight song to "OU sucks", they used to say "Make em Eat shite" when they played Arkansas.

Ummm, no. "Make 'em eat shite" instead of "go horns go" in the fight song applied to everyone except Oklahoma, who have "OU sucks."

I have a copy of the radio broadcast of the 1970 cotton bowl against Notre dame and you can clearly hear "make 'em eat shite" from the Texas fans.

Now chanting "poor piggies" as victories wound down was aimed at you. Akin to the "poor Aggies" chant.

Who is nobody?

Is nobody a collection of universities that share the same feelings about University of Texas

There are many universities that still care about Texas. Pay a visit to Nebraska if you do not believe this.

Thing is college football fans are usually a bit smarter than the average pro football fan because they have usually attended the school they support.
With this being said I can tell you college football fans can manipulate fiction into fact and fact into fiction better than most.
Go read Nebraska history told by Nebraska if you ever think programs no longer care about Texas. Remove the lies and bullshite and you will see a University who in 15 years developed a hatred that is probably blinding to most.

For comparison:

Longhorn band "commemorating" Arkansas' departure for the SEC: https://youtu.be/YJV4_L6nm0g?t=1m25s

Longhorn band commemorating A&M's departure for the SEC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iM7NfOfkgw0

I'm old enough to have very foggy memories of Texas/Arkansas in the late 80's, but my older family members remember the animosity vividly. Today's kids in Fayetteville and Austin don't get it, but as evidenced by the two totally different halftime shows, the animosity from Texas to Arkansas matched the animosity from Arkansas to Texas at that time.

Texas had OU to fill the rivalry void, but Arkansas has been floating around with forced rivalries that aren't working. Would like to see the last week of the year Arkansas/Missouri replaced with Arkansas/Texas. Would make us old farts happy.

the shooting in '92 didn't involve the fan bases.. at that point the Commerce St crowd had evolved into the majority being there for the party scene with no real interest in either team.

There we have it, folks. The piggies would prefer a 4-2 record against Texas since announcing their intention to move to the SEC, over a football conference championship (of which they have none in the SEC, and never will).

Yep, that is pure-d hatred.
