No we haven't recruited well in Texas since Bert arrival. He's managed to pick up a few guys here and there, but not nearly the numbers of past.

What he has lacked in Texas recruiting, he has made up with in FL and LA recruits, but for Arkansas to turn the corner Texas needs to be an emphasis in recruiting.

We will target specific positions in TX...RB's, WR's, Secondary...Not to say we won't recruit other positions but this is a numbers game.

Arkansas looking at pictures of their old boyfriend and then floating the ol' "it's not you it's me" line

Take some time Hogs. Eat a pint of Haagen Dazs and watch a movie. You'll realize that you're better off here once the hormones cool down

Other than Auburn losing there really wasn't much positive for arkie in that game. Auburn literally gave it away on three or more occasions. It was a great example of neither team wanting to win.

We recruit Texas, both for athletes and regular students. That's the only explanation. This is targeted at the 7 million people living 5 hours SW of Fayetteville.

Also, that 1981 football game vs Texas makes me want to watch it. I've only ever seen it on Youtube. That was utter destruction of a #1 ranked team like I've never seen in real time.

Want to see utter frickin' destruction? They should have had "lowly" Mizzou (finished #6 in BCS) from the b12 DESTRUCTING the piglets in the 2008 Cotton Bowl. Savior McFadden was wrapped-up and beat down all game. While Mizzou's Tony Temple ran for a Cotton Bowl rushing record with 281 yards and 4 touchdowns that still stands. They dared Mizzou to run, Tigers crammed it down their throats.

Beat their azz, made 'em like it.

So you're best game ever was against a one game interim HC? Then you reference DMAC that mailed it in not to get hurt prior to the draft...Congrats my friend

It's funny that you guys regularly bring that up as some epic win. We fired (excuse me forced the resignation of) our head coach at the end of that season prior to the bowl game. Nutt's staff threw the game as much as you won it.

Congrats?

After beating #1 LSU in Baton Rouge and firing Nutt we just couldn't match up with the mighty Tigers of Mizzou. LOL

The rivarly with LSU

Good Lord. The old Rant joke that Arkansas is the only football team to play multiple Super Bowl games a year has more then smidgen of truth to it.

Now that A&M has joined the conference the in conference rival hierarchy for Arkansas football goes Aggies, Ole Miss, Bama/LSU depending on who is higher ranked that year, then Auburn. Give it another decade and Missouri will probably be ahead of Ole Miss.

As for Texas we did not leave the SWC to get away from them... though that was a great side benefit since we didn't have to put up with them anymore... we left because the SEC was a more stable and viable conference and we could see the hand writing on the wall. Missouri and Texas A&m left for the same reasons.

We are currently making bank in the SEC while the Big 12 (the successor conference to the SWC) is teetering on the brink of collapse.

Golly gee yes, we sure do miss having to worry about whether or not our conference was going to be around the next season.

I can think of about 357 all-purpose reasons I'm thrilled to see what doesn't appear on that programming list.
