since it says he is from Little Rock. I would imagine he was a Houston Nutt supporter and not a University of Arkansas fan.

So, that is why you should be happy with 6-6 and just a bowl game.

This is just classic coming from an OM fan.

Notre dame is a totally different situation b/c it's the premier catholic private school. It's near Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, columbus, which those area's produce alot of talent. But, I think more importantly it's a catholic based private school. Alot of athletes are catholic and they can get an edge on some catholic based athletes. If LIttle Rock Catholic High had a real talent that ND was offering as was Ark, he'd probabaly be pushed there b/c that's how they do things. Also, every kid in the country grows up watching ND on channel 4 with their best commentators doing their games b/c they have a channel 4 contract, so over the years they have got the more exposure. When I was a kid I use to like Notre dame. I owned a couple ND t-shirts and a fleece and I liked wearing them alot.

They have fallen off with Weiss at the helm anyway. Ark could have beat them in a sugar bowl in 06 I think. That might be where Urban ends up.

they had the same 2 coaches for 30 years. They built alot of what they did by getting some of the cream of the crop from SC, NC, GA, FL. They border alot of states and have traditionally got media exposure in alot of states. Arkansas is located in the far north west quandrant of the conference and the big problem is the state doesn't produce enough talent and OK and TX and other big12 schools get most the SEC caliber talent there.

The biggest thing with TN was they had the biggest budget, They kept the same 2 coaches, and they took advantage over the years of alot of coaching changes and instability in neighboring states.

you don't have a clue how the world works do you? you completely leave out the factor of recruiting except for when you tell me how bad Arkansas's is. If I try to tell you that our recruiting is fine as it was last year you tell me that Rival's rankings are useless even when I didn't say anything about them.

How does having a large budget attract recruits unless they are being paid? If they kept those two coaches and were a winning program, that means those coaches were doing well, so kudos to Tenner for not hiring people like Danny Ford and Jack Crowe.

Exactly there is no evidence that Arkansas with a good recruiting staff cannot do the same thing to our border states which are LA, MS, TX, OK, and MO as well as Memphis. We've yet to see what can be done and you write it off as something that can never be done.

So the media exposure of the SEC can't bring recruits out of the B12 to Arkansas?

I don't know why you've decided that Arkansas can't be successful but if you could come up with a thesis that doesn't revolve around Nutt sucking and the state of Arkansas's lack of population I'd be willing to listen.

I'm not saying Arkansas can't be successful but I'm saying most years they won't post a winning conference record b/c all their competition besides Vandy and Kentucky , maybe MSU half the time has a better recruiting base b/c it's closer. I'm not so sure that the budget helps a great deal in recruiting other than some teams might have the resources to send coaches out to california Juco's several times per week to recruit. Kentucky has done that as has Tennesse in the past that I know of. Ark did it this year and the last time I remember them doing it they brought in a nose tackle who got popped dealing dope.

Anyway, as I have discussed before, Arkansas can go to Texas or Oklahoma and get a Tackle or defensive end or anything else, but it's going to be a below average SEC player most times. MS, LA, MO, TN, the memphis area will go to area schools. not Arkansas.

Garcia might be due for a break out year. he won't be rotating snaps or at least that's not the plan right now. Last year Spurs was rotating qb's every play when I watched him.
