I think this is true.

I found it reasonable that you brought this up....and it makes sense. However, I can somewhat understand the Hogs being sensitive. they have been down for a while now, and have taken a LOT of crap for hiring Bert.

They need to toughen up. You can't sail as much as they do and be super sensitive. I wasn't even being overly critical or flaming.

Bert would much rather ribs over an extension. Bert finna eat!

It would say that Chavis wants to lock down every single penny possible for his retirement and that we weren't willing to ink a deal that could've been a huge waste of money for a grossly overrated coordinator.

He took the step down to A&M because he isn't worth the amount of money he was asking for and they were the only team dumb enough to give it to him. Get back to me in December and let me know if Chavis is worth $1.7 million when he doesn't have a stable of all Americans running his antiquated defense. And I think the fact that we've been to the national championship every 4 years since 2003 says enough about our program, when's the last time Georgia went to one of those, dipshit?

We got a lot of positive press for the season we had this year, the way the team played, not the record.

Some coaching issues have been addressed and we'll see how that turns out.

No arrests, kids doing good in class,no thugs as threats to the community. These are things that are also factored in to the job a coach is doing. Not bringing in risks just to win a game.

Bret is doing it right and if it takes a little longer then I have no problem with it.

Everyone else can have the criminals.

You don't have a clue, Bret is the best coach we could hope to have rebuild Arkansas. Our fans know this and support the A.D. in doing his job!

Can you point to any post of mine that indicates I think differently?
You are missing my point.

What was the motivation to renegotiate this off season?

Bert turned down a Nebraska job offer as well as interest from two NFL teams this off season.

FWIW.

Let the flames continue, I'm sure, I didn't make it past this post before replying.

I believe it shows we think he's on the right track and we have his best interest in mind and our best interest as well. Happy coaches will work their butts off.

Not a big deal. The risk is if he flops and needs to be replaced. There was no leverage to renegotiate his deal this year. Arky just added more risk with no reward.

You can afford to do these things when you're not paying ex-coaches (i.e. Petrino). Take note and learn Tennessee.

We have boosters who can and will step up and pay a buyout, even of Bert's amount, if needed.

I've never understood this type of comment. You have a disagreement with one, count it, one person and you label every fan the same. Just gets my goat. Plus I see your point. Don't necessarily agree, but I see it?
