They already do play every year. They're each other's annual cross-divisional opponent.

Nothing would be more hilarious then Long lobbying hard to get Mizzou in the West and Auburn in the East and then the league makes Auburn Arkansas's permanent rival. Would be priceless.

Over the last ten times the Hogs played Auburn and USCe, we have a 5-5 record against both. Not seeing the difference.

Dimwit- if they moved Auburn to the East then Bama would become their perm rival or the whole state of Alabama would spontaneously combust into flames.

Also, your first then should be a than.

Moving Auburn to East means Auburn or Tennessee would have to drop their rivalry with Bama.

Moving Alabama to the East means either Alabama or Georgia has to drop their rivalry with Auburn.

This. The only way either of them could move to the East would be if both of them did, so there would have to be another team besides Missouri moving to the West. Vanderbilt would make the most sense geographically, but that would leave the divisions too unbalanced. From the standpoint of historical rivalries, and in the interest of maintaining competitive balance, Florida might actually be the best choice. Their historical rivalries were split between East and West. Before the expansions, when we used to have only five permanent SEC opponents, Florida's were LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky. Three of those are in the West right now, but three would be in the East if Auburn moved.

The East is already too weak. You can't take its best team away. Mizzou will have won it 3 out of 5 years after this season.

How about we just send Arkansas and Mizzou to the Big 12?

Just easy to stick Missouri in the East because who cares about them?

I have a feeling this was the correct answer.

Moving Bama or Auburn was not happening and the only one left would have been Vanderbilt but they have some of the longest series in the conference with Tennessee and Kentucky.

Missouri in the East prevents moving old rivalries and is the path of least resistance.

You morons realize Auburn wants in the EAST so we can play ALL of our traditional rivals. A schedule with Bama, UGA, UF, UT is what Auburn fans want and deserve. Yes we will lose LSU which has become a nice series and may or may not lose our one sided series with State. Auburn has always traditionally played the toughest schedule in the SEC and you can go back as far as you want for proof. We want our rivalries (specifically with UF) back!

Yet Auburn ducked Bama for 40+ years or whatever it was

i mean i always assumed mizzou in the east was a temporary deal until all the conference realignment madness finished.

I agree. But until then you have to leave Mizzou where they are. We committed recruiting resources to East areas and are actually closer to our closest East schools than we are the closest West schools.

I know most here DGAF, but at least the old and new commissoners understood the logistics.

He's right on this one. Geographically Missouri is a better fit in the West. Ideally we'd add two teams (from NC and Virgnia) to the East and shift Missouri over to the west.

What difference does it make to Arkansas? We already play Mizzou every year. It wouldn't change anything for us. We already play them in basketball, too. In baseball, do divisions even exist?

It doesn't matter.

bingo, and to answer your question, yes there are still divisions in baseball

Well he's right on region, but I wonder if this is just to have a lapdog to beat up on each year, and lose someone stronger.

He said Mizzou should move West, not Kentucky.
