My cousin is a junior at LSU and has lined up 2 extra tickets for myself and my brother to go to the LSU Florida game. The catch is, tickets are in the LSU student section.

This is a must-do. Seriously, you must do this and report back afterwards. I have seen it done before, and hey, no one died.

All I know is, we now have the 5 second delay on all broadcasts because of that 2007 LSU vs UF game where we all chanted "frick you Tebow"

I'm usually not a big a-hole, because really it takes some stones to sit in the student section. I just can't stand when people sit in the section wearing NFL or pro soccer jerseys... or when they bring their kids and yell at me for foul language.

Worst incident for me was a Bama fan in our (LSU) section. WOULD NOT shut up and unfortunately one of their backs had a record setting day in TS. GAWD, long day.

Whoever gets you student tickets knowing you will be there in Florida colors is a complete d-bag and needs their fan card and season tickets revoked. People in rival gear should not be let in the student gate in the first place.

It will probably get pretty bad honestly. I havent seen too many physical altercations b/n students and opposing fans, but it is definitely a possibility. You will have entire sections of the stadium chanting at you and putting their fingers in your face and things like that. My advice would be to smile and take it. Dont talk smack. Dont get angry (this will make it worse). Ive seen plenty of fans of opposing teams sit in the student section and be fine, but they took the bashing like champions and laughed it off. If you have an LSU fan with you it would help out tremendously. Good luck!! You are a brave man!!

P.S. might want to bring a poncho regardless of the weather report (just for good measure).

agreed. i hope they get caught and lose their season tickets for the rest of their college career. thousands of lsu students didnt get tickets to the game and you sell it to a uf fan? unacceptable

I wore UT attire at a LSU homecoming game a few years ago and took much shite from LSU fans on the way to the game.

I went to the 2001 LSU vs UT SECCG and had a LSU fan walk up to the tailgate and grab a can of mixed nuts and open them and say "i'm taking some of these" then walk off. The LSU fans were throwing ice on the field even at their own players. When some fan had to be carried off on a stretcher they chanted "hey hey goodbye."

The LSU fans I have encountered were up there with UF and ND fans.

just because your ticket is for the student section that doesn't mean you have to sit there

This.
Putting you in the student section means A) He hates you and thinks its funny you have to be there or B) He isn't a true tiger fan or understand what the student section is even for and how important it is

Well I go to many home games at Tiger Stadium and I don't see bloodshed or ambulances...I see alot of partying and standing the whole game ....
So many opposing fans have survived it...for years. But I agree we shouldn't treat guests badly...Drinking I know can make things crazier.

It amazes me how proud LSU fans are of their disgusting reputation. Most of their fans are absolute swamp trash who have been plastered for the game since about 8 a.m. that morning. Taunting and jeering are one thing, but when people are afraid to park their cars near the stadium because they might get keyed or wear opposing colors because they might get piss bombs thrown at them, that should tell you something. I wouldn't be proud if my fanbase was feared for their disgusting, alcohol-fueled savagery; I'd be ashamed.

The kids in the book "Lord of the Flies" remind me of LSU fans, if that tells you anything. Don't sit in their student section.

If you think the same shite wouldn't happen in Bryant-Denny if I got into the Student Section wearing my P&G and an attitude... then you are delusional.

Would you be taunted? Absolutely. Would you have to worry about your car being keyed or having piss bombs thrown at you? Absolutely not.

There's quite a difference in those two examples. The former is to be expected anywhere. The latter is disgusting and to be expected in Baton Rouge.

shite, my car got keyed at the mall the other day, people that go to malls are swamp trash. And just because I double parked my truck.

piss bombs

Do you have pictures, video, police reports?

I have seen this "rumor" thrown around a lot with no facts to back it up. The only facts I have seen about anything thrown, was that some Alabama fan who was frail or old got hit by a "foam" football. And a foam football hitting someone in or around a football game, is unfortunate but I'm pretty sure not intentional.

Now there was a bad incident at the '03 UGA game, but incidents for the most part are not as numerous as the two football programs from Alabama would have everyone believe.

If you go back a couple of pages you'll find an LSU fan warning the OP about getting hit with piss bombs. Hopefully that answers your question.
