People would really hate that game.
Miami would probably win 17-6 or something.

Miami has an advantage everywhere on the football field, but Bama has a big coaching advantage. It would be a good low scoring game that Miami would win like 17-10

They'd have advantages most places, but our DL would be a clear advantage over their OL. Luckily, that can negate other advantages or even matchups.

Miami's OL functioned great as a unit on those teams and was the best coached part of their program. Bama would have an advantage there but I don't think it would be as big as people are saying.

Has it really come to this? Bama and the East have made the season so boring we are having a serious debate about this...
Chernoff was right yesterday.

To be fair we generally have these stupid debates, they are just normally done in May

I think pretty much the whole starting o-line on that Miami team ended up playing in the NFL.

See above, they didn't. Only McKinnie played and started in the NFL for more than a few years.

Bryant McKinnie - 1st round pick
Sherko Haji-Rasouli - not drafted (CFL)
Brett Romberg - undrafted free agent
Martin Bibla - 4th round pick
Joaquin Gonzalez - 7th round pick

No, it wouldn't. Miami's offensive line was actually the strongest part of their team. They allowed four sacks the entire year. Bryant McKinnie and the rest of those guys were absolute animals.

Who cares? It's a click bait article to reel in insecure Bama fans like yourself.

A lot of the backups did. Their line had more NFL talent in the years after honestly, guys like Vernon Carey, Eric Winston, Chris Myers and Rashad Butler were either young backups or not on the squad yet who went to have really good pro careers.

I remember hearing how UA didn't have a chance against Miami another time.
That didn't go the way Miami thought it would.

Bama and SEC refs?
If so, game would be tight (at best) for the deep reds

So 4 out of the 5 played in the NFL...

Alabama is averaging more sacks per game (4.11) and the best run defense (66.0 YPG, 2.09 YPC) of any Power 5 team in the last 10 years. Both. On the same team.
That Miami team was great and would probably shutout Alabama, but they'd run into a brick wall like everyone else since the mid-1990s Nebraska would.

All they need to do is watch the UA v UT game to see what NOT to do if they want to be successful against UA.

The biggest matchup problem for Alabama defensively would be defending Shockey. College defenses these days, including even Alabama's, are just not set up to defend guys like that

They were backups in the NFL that bounced around and were out of the league shortly, yes. Much like the 2013-2015 Alabama offensive lines, which were average at best but still had most of their guys play in the NFL in some capacity.

Shockey and 1-on-1s down the field to the insane WR group.
It would be awesome to watch. The other side of the ball would probably be pretty ugly.
