Ole Miss has 2 rivalries in the west and another team making a hard push to be our 3rd.

We traditionally have someone important injured against them every year. Duece, TE Doug Buckles(Eli's go to guy), etc.....
Buckles was an offensive guard and stepped on Eli's foot on the last play of the LSU game in 2003. You are talking about a tight end that was Eli's roommate and his last name started with a "Z" but don't feel like looking it up. I was there. The only OM game I have seen in probably 25 years (my wife has like 6 degrees from OM so I have to go occasionally). Broken leg. You are welcome!

It was the TE- Doug Ziegler.

Those nerdy Vandy bitches have been a thorn in our arse for many years.

was there some sort of bias given to powerhouse teams vs. powerhouse teams and lesser teams vs. lesser teams?

I think it was just chance. We got SC because we both joined at the same time. And like another poster said, rivalries had something to do with it.

I'm of two minds on the way the SEC handles the schedules, but I know one thing for certain, I'd like LSU's chances of winning the west much better if we played UT or Vandy this year instead of UF.....That said, in 10 years things could be much different.

Everyone forgets, that at some point, we will play Lsu/Auburn/Florida/Tennesse in the same season, and they won't always all be bad at the same time. We have our share of hellatious schedules at times. Just suck it up and take advantage of the boost it could give with a win.

SCar and Arkansas play every year because they were the last two to join the SEC.

if you think 1 constant team is bad, it use to be two. we played UT and Vandy every year. And only a team without a traditional rival would think change>rivalry

Ole Miss and LSU has a strong rivalry dating back to the 40's

So if that isn't a "traditional" rivalry yet The Egg Bowl is, does that mean that UT isn't a rival of Alabama because it isn't in state?

sorry, you are wrong. lsu and ole miss are just that; tradtional rivals. when ole miss went in their multi-decade funk, the rival ceased to be intense, at least from the lsu side. however, it appears that things might be getting back to the rival stage. in my day (late 60's), lsu vs ole miss was huge. we celebrated the whole week (hell week) and those bas(^&*rd's always gave us a hell of a fight.

alabama and UT are are rivals, but auburn is our traditional rival. didn't mean to offend anyone but tulane is your traditional rival. Seeing as how you would still play ole miss every season if the constant out of division game was taken away I really don't see how it is relevant to this thread.

if it was a traditional rivalry that would never happen

You said the only people who were pro-change didn't have any rivalries. We pointed out that we DO in fact have our own rivals.

You were wrong. You took a left turn when you should have turned right. Just admit it.
