LOL. Shaw is 17-3 as a starter in the SEC. No way is he not in the top 5 QBs.

I agree. I would put Russell at 5 and Shaw at at least 4. Mett can gtfo.

Mr. Archie Manning, who knows a thing or two about the QB position just handed the hardware to Johnny Manziel. JFF is the player who broke his records this year.

The rest of us can blow hot air but I will accept Archie Manning's judgement.

What has Manziel done that is even remotely bad?
Nothing bad, per say, but traveling coast to coast from one party to the next during the offseason is not the "grounded mentality" you hope to have in your QB leader. We shall all see how it plays out.

I honestly think Driskel is gonna have a good year. A much improved one anyway. Year 2 in Pease's system should prove to be much more productive

Pretty sure the trips to Miami, Vegas and Cali were after the cotton bowl but it's nice to see that the cotton bowl is the pinnacle of the Ag fan base.

Not a delusion it's fact.

There's way too much bashing of Mettenberger in this thread. He looked like a world-beater against 'Bama and tossed a very pretty long TD pass against A&M just before the half that was enough to win the game. Not saying he should be top 2, but I don't see the problem with top 5.

I agree.

The only one I'd take issue with is Tyler Russell over Shaw or Wallace.

agreed. I'd even put Thompson over Russell.

5. Mett (I don't think he has as high of a ceiling as people think. He has great arm strength but he looks like a statue out there.)

This is a really good post. He looks like a statue too much, especially compared to other QB's in college football. The man plays QB like a late career Vinnie Testaverde or Drew Bledsoe.

Well part of that coast-to-coast travelling was going to George Whitfield's training. Which 'Bama newbie and Jack Del Rio's kid also went to, but that's neither here nor there. (A bit of homerism here, but if this really bothers you you might want to watch this). Ignoring that training, if you actually watch JFF talk instead of relying on TMZ or Twitter, guys like you are feeding the fire. He desperately wants to make you look stupid. So keep it up :-). SEC defenses may corral him and if anybody can it will be LSU, but if he doesn't have the same year it won't be because of his travels.

And it's "per se". Yes, I understand I'm an a-hole.

Yeah, we'd bench our two time NC QB for a flag football QB. You don't know Saban very well.
