The way I see it, Johnny Football has as good a shot at beating Bama in 2013..... as Tim Tebow did in 2009.

So this is not an example of them winning all of their games by double digits. Was this the point you were trying to make?

When have they gone undefeated and won every game by double digits, like the OP is suggesting.
Damn dude, Saban has to have goals and something to strive for every year. He's working on going undefeated again AND winning every game by double digits.

I have no idea. I'm not an expert on Bama. I don't know when the last time any team won all their games by double digit points.

since 2009 Bama has won 44 regular season games. 40 of those have been by double digits. So 91% of Bama's victories over the past 4 years have been by double digits. Bama beat LSU by 4 in 2012 and 9 points in 2009. They beat UT by 2 in 2009 and Arkansas by 4 in 2010. Those are the only teams that Bama hasn't beaten by double digits in the past 4 seasons. Bama has lost 5 games in those 4 seasons. USCe beat Bama by 14 in 2010 (only double digit loss during that time), LSU beat them by 3 in 2010 and 3 in 2011, Auburn beat them by 1 in 2010, and A&M beat them by 5 in 2012.

quote:When was the last time this happened?

Every game Bama won in 2011, including the bcs championship - was a double digit victory. Their loss in OT to LSU was by 3 points.

I am leaving all arguments in favor of bama on this subject to Meno's Paradox...

I absolutely LOVE the "saban has been preparing for Johnny since spring football" line from SEC fans. The street goes both ways MFers

Yes, they also lost a game. That same season is an example of LSU beating every team they played. Does that mean I claim undefeated season? No, because we lost one of those games.

You shouldn't have to do mental gymnastics to make the point. If you can't make it straight forward by giving me a season full of double digit wins with no exceptions then don't bother.

91% of the games they have won may be by double digits. 0% of the seasons they have played, at least in recent history, have been finished undefeated with 100% double digit wins. And this year won't be any different.

They very well may go undefeated, I think the odds are in their favor for that. Projecting double digit wins with only one team scoring over 20 is a little far fetched.

Your qb is that type of player. You should take that as a compliment and feel good about it.

Although Meno did a fine job on his post, it still didn't prove the statement he was responding to wrong.

For the record, I don't think Bama wins every game by double digits. They always play tight games with LSU and A&M will be tough in college station (don't care to hear from Bama fans about Saban in "revenge" games. It will be a fight for both teams)

When presented as a compliment, I take it as one. When presented as an "iron-clad stone-cold lock" reason for bama winning 9/14, I offer up the flip-side to that reason. Carry on.

VaTech W 41-9
A&M W 38-17
CSU W
Ole Miss W 37-21
GSU W
Kentucky W
Arkansas W
Tennessee W
LSU 20-17 toss up
State W
Chattanooga W
AU W

A&M and LSU are the only 2 teams on the schedule that can play with Bama. Bama has revenge on their mind and will throw everything and the kitchen sink at A&M. LSU has the exact same mindset toward Bama as Bama has toward A&M.

I would watch out for Tennessee to be a trap game.

Well, tough, you're going to hear it anyway. The game won't even be close. Imagine Clemson in '08, Georgia and Florida in '09, Michigan State in '10, LSU in '11, and ND in '12. That's the kind of game it will be.
