Yea - which is why nothing will ever top the 2008 regular season or the 2009 SEC Championship Game (and BCS Title game, even though the SECCG will always be more memorable).

Those were great, but the 1992 (93) Sugar Bowl win over Miami is the gold standard, for that very reason.

Miami was hated every bit as much as we are now - probably more, because of their attitudes - and for "Bebes" to bring us back to glory by chopping down Da U was just beyond words.

I don't think there will every be as thrilling a season for me. It was magical.

It's not over...just harder to win it all with a 4 team playoff. Say the bcs format was still in place like 09, 11, 12...Bama would more than likely beat FSU in 14 and Ohio state this email year.

Put your big boys pants on and settle down. This is SECrant. This site is nothing more than a talk shite site. Everybody talks shite to everybody. Everybody knows that Alabama isn't going anywhere. They will be in the same position next season as they were this season.

The Dynasty is over?

Alabama won it all last year, and came within 1 play of going back-to-back this year. They've won the SEC 3 years in a row and are about to sign the #1 class for like the 473rd straight year. Saban will let you know when the Dynasty is over, aight?

If Alabama does not continue winning Natties it can't be because of:
Talent (You are about to win your 8th straight #1 class)
Facilities
Money

Why would you stop winning National Titles, in your opinion?

A better question is why can't Georgia do the same? Your program is just as loaded. You have WAAAAYYYY more in-state talent, and the facilities are on par. Why can't Georgia do the same?

No denying which program in the state of alabama is superior historically, presently, and for the foreseeable future is there, or are you in denial about that?

It's gonna be wild when Saban retires and Alabama hits the mandatory decline. Interaction with the fanbase should be quite interesting.

I think a lot of it depends on what happens in the next couple years. And obviously how you define a "dynasty"

dy•nas•ty ('da? n? sti; Brit. also 'd?n ? sti)

n., pl. -ties.
1. a sequence of rulers from the same family, stock, or group: the Ming dynasty.
2. the rule of such a family or group.
3. any succession of members of a powerful or influential family or group.

Dynasty is the most overused phrase in sports. Going by the actual definition you need succession from one leader to the next. In the USA, the truly dynastic rule is probably reserved for thoroughbred racing as all horses descend from just 3 lines and only 1 of the 3 was the really prolific one.

In college sports in the SEC, just 2 programs confer dynastic leanings

(5) Alabama football coaches with 16 MNC's
Wallace Wade (3) to Frank Thomas (2) to Bear Bryant (6) to Gene Stallings (1) to Nick Saban (4)

(5) Kentucky basketball coaches with 8 NC's
Adolph Rupp (4) to Joe Hall (1) to Rick Pitino (1) to Tubby Smith (1) to John Calaipari (1)

A single coach does not make a dynasty no matter their individual success. If it it not followed by a subsequent coach that line dies and does not reproduce.

Dynasty doesn't mean you win every championship all the time. Bama is still in the midst of unprecedented success over a period of time. Bama has been a few plays away from a championship every year of the new playoff format. Bama is still going to be the best team in the SEC and could very well make the playoff next year. Clemson players talk about starting a dynasty of their own. Next year they won't have the best player in the history of their program and a big chunk of their offense, can they sustain? Bama does year after year. We led for 50 minutes of the NC game and we're ahead with 1 second left, with a true freshman QB who can't pass yet and an OC who had been on the job for a week.
