So our rivals are now:

Auburn
Tennessee
Whoever is the consistently toughest team on our schedule.

God I hope Ole Miss doesn't keep beating us or we will have to be rivals with them too

Well done on the straw man argument. Those play well on the rant.

It's "more important" because yall have won more in that span.
I don't think so. It's simply that both teams are championship caliber, consistently, simultaneously for the first time ever. (Bama a little more consistently than LSU, but still) Isn't it silly to claim otherwise?

We've won more in literally every span, except "the last fifteen years". We've dominated the series both historically, and recently. You can slice it however you want, I just think it's a little silly to accuse a Bama fan of selective timeframes, laugh, and then bring up literally the only possible timeframe that gives LSU a competitive edge.

I'm just trying to follow. It was UF about 15-20 or so years ago, now they are out and LSU is in right?

Our games against Florida were big and you can call it a rivalry then if you want...but there was not as much of a sustained National Championship level implication year in and year out.

What is your definition of a rivalry? How many years does it have to be before you can call it that? Can there every be another team become our rivals, or is that impossible at this point?

I feel like most idiots on this board doesn't understand what a rivalry is or pretend not to in order to troll the other. Alabama-LSU has clearly developed a rivalry in the last decade. Both teams look forward to it, the fans definitely do, fans get very emotional, it has often been the deciding game in the SEC.. Almost everyone looking at it objectively would refer to it as a rivalry.

our current GOAT coach making them relevant is the only reason it's now a rivalry

Meh... Saban needed Dinardo's players to win.

It's possible, like I said if this shite keeps up for many more years to let the hate grow on both sides where I will want to beat the frick out of LSU even if they suck then it could be considered one.

In short, if saban and miles left next year and both teams sucked I wouldn't look at the game any different from other games but UT and Auburn would still have significance

Then we aren't that far apart. I just have a little less strict of a definition than you do.

The fact that both schools schedule their bye week the week before this game tells you all you need to know.

It really is amazing, the complete refusal to acknowledge five in a row. Do yall get treatments to eliminate bad things from the memory? Since when did Bama football start 7 years ago?

I don't know how the point went over your head but it's been so important since 2008 because both teams have been fantastic since then. It wasn't as important before then cause we weren't as good. This isn't hard.

It's done to point out the hypocrisy that is evert Bama fan's go-to LSU meme of "didn't you know that LSU football started in 2000." I am doing it for effect. So, in fact, what you say I am doing, is actually what you all do constantly.

I like "eras" anyway. End of Bear, new Millennium, start of Les, start of Saban, etc. 2008 is pretty random, even relatively speaking. LSU doesn't even lead in most of those spans, so it's not really about finding the right one. No matter the conversation, Bama fans drop Saban's first year with such consistency that I actually think some believe he started in Bama in 2008. I find that funny given your usual mocking tone when it comes to history.

LSU already treats Bama as their number one rival and it has been that way since Saban landed in Tuscaloosa.

I am going on record. You and I are not rivals. Just e-buds who intensely hate each other at least one week of the year (two weeks depending upon how we both schedule our bye weeks).

This kind of depends on when you started watching football. I never really paid attention to Bama until Saban arrived so that game has more to do with Saban than Bama
