Over the last 50 years...

AU leads 25-23-2... Aub has outscored UGA by 18 pts. over that time period. Longest losing streak was 4 games, once by each team. Both teams have knocked the other out of SEC contention or the Top 10 several times. Definitely my favorite rivalry...

Over the same 50 years...

UGA leads GT 39-11-0...UGA has outscored GT by 324 pts. over that time period. UGA has two 7 game win streaks & 1 6 game win streak.GT has one 3 game streak. Tech is not the team I want to beat the most, but they're the team I hate to lose to the most... frick 'em..

Hell as bad as we've been against Fla. the last 20 years we're still 22-27-1 over the last 50 years.....

That's who I want to beat more.

Not the game that I enjoy more.

This is exactly how I feel. I hate those rednecks across the state with every fiber of my being. I'm sick of putting up with them, I would love nothing more than for them to lose every single game they play and for us to stop associating ourselves with them by playing them every year. If we can't do that, beating them on the field is a solid second option.

The Georgia game has always been a close, fun, gentleman's rivalry that I look forward to every year. The hatred isn't there, which makes it a lot more enjoyable. If we lose, I kinda like UGA, so it's not nearly as big of a deal. If we lose to UA, I'm sick at my stomach for the next week. Not to mention, we've gotta deal with all the bandwagon hicks that have never stepped foot on a college campus.

These rivalries are part of what makes college football so much fun. In the pursuit of greater revenue, some of that is being sacrificed. Missouri is losing a rivalry with Kansas, Texas A&M is losing a very high-profile rivalry with Texas. What I've always loved about college football more than pro football is the tradition. That's being pushed aside, which might be acceptable in part, but I'm afraid of it snowballing out of control and losing a lot of its meaning.

A former Bama player, can't remember which one, summed up the two rivalries this way:

"We hate Auburn because we have to. We hate Tennessee because we want to."

Sounds about right to me.

Hogwash. Those teams could still schedule their old rivalries as OOC opponents if they REALLY wanted to keep the fire alive. But alas, they are pussies.

I don't hate AU the most, but I sure as hell look forward to that game the most. It's a very competitive rivalry. All of our other rivalries are lopsided. Florida always beats us. We always beat Tech. The AU game is by far my favorite game to attend & watch. It's usually a barn burner ( :rimshot: )
