It restricts the amount of space the other students have to sit with their own friends. The seats are also reserved til about 30 minutes before kickoff, allowing the frats to wait until the last minute to get to the stadium.

So basically they're trying to force students to stay in shitty seats because of how bad it looks on the teebee when they're empty? I don't get dogging the students over it when the photos show the entire stadium cleared out unless it's for the benefit of the television cameras.
They don't look like crummy seats but I suppose that's part of the problem in terms of how it looks to both recruits and the cameras.

yea id bet most of the frats just go sit in their usual section anyways. This will only get some nonfrat kid picked on for being the superfan that wants to steal the frat kids section
