We just passed them on CFRC too but their system is...interesting since they have Boise State at #9 all-time.

Good, at least y'all aren't just hanging on shite that happened a long time ago. Bama actually deserves to be in the discussion every year.

People give us shite over 1964 and 1973 but they outright refused to play in bowls until the late 60s.

We always knew this. Try convincing Irish fans who the all time best program is.

I think the 2012 NCG was the passing of the torch between Notre Dame to Alabama as the greatest program of all-time. Up until that time, they were tied for most national championships (13) among Division 1-A CFB programs. Alabama surpassed them in championships after beating them in the NCG. They became the greatest CFB program in history that day.

Bama changed southern football forever when they won the Rose Bowl in 1920's. At that time, it shocked the college football world because nobody thought to much about southern football before all that. Furthermore, Bama has played major roll with shaping college football ever since, and we Bama fans are blessed/fortunate to have experienced such historic happenings and championships won all these years. This Bama fan couldn't ask for more, that's for sure. I myself, have experienced some good Bama runs during the 70's, early 90's and now under Saban. Hopefully the next generation of Bama fans can experience those same awesome memories too.

That used to be all Bama won back in the day.

If ND didn't have the academic restrictions placed on them by their administration, they would have 5 more NCs. Fifty percent of Bama NC teams couldn't get into ND.

Do you really believe this? Trust me, if Notre Dame wants an athlete they will get him into school

I love how every Auburn fan I've ever known has such a hard on for Notre Dame because they're the only program who historically was on par with Bama. Sadly for Auburn, Bama has passed them since Notre Dame hasn't done shite in 25 years. Auburn fans are still clinging to that Catholic teet though, it's always been funny to see

Do not belong in the discussion.

Alabama
Notre Dame

Are all Tier 1 programs.

Ohio State
Nebraska
Texas

Are all just a notch below the Tier 1 programs but are still among the elitest of the elite.

Holtz from 88-93 trumps anything Saban has ever done.

Holtz was 100-30-2 at Notre Dame. 0.765
Saban is 100-18 at Alabama. 0.847

Holtz had 1 poll championship
Saban has 4 poll championships

Holtz was 0.555 in bowl games
Saban is 0.700 in bowl games

Holtz finished in the top ten 5 times (out of 11 seasons)
Saban finished in the top ten 8 times (out of 9 seaons)

Holtz was a great coach, and I admire him for this accomplishments. But Saban trumps Holtz.

The irony, considering y'all got a 2 year bowl ban and a damn TV ban under Danny Ford after 1981.
