And you're relying on three games to make your entire season. Don't lose sight of that.
Plus now you're going to use "ranked at the time" when you beat these teams. It's gonna be hilarious. "OH WE BEAT THREE TOP TEN TEAMS!"
Then we all get to come in and say, "well not really, they're not top 10 anymore."

I mean, is anyone seriously saying we haven't had a Top 10 schedule? We play in the West, which even if you think it is overrated, is still one of the Top 2 divisions in football. In addition we played Georgia and Tennessee from the East, plus two bowl teams in the OOC in Wisconsin and MTSU. Finally, we'd play Florida in the SECCG.
So, yea, not sure anybody who would have a tougher more competitive schedule over the course of a season than that.

You dumbasses are relying on shite like ESPN FPI and "strength of record" to make your points. Don't lose sight of that.
I'm curious. How does the defending national champion eek out a 7 point win over NIL? I mean, for a Gang of Five team, they're...okay. At least 7-3 would be okay for a power conference team. For a lower-tier, not so much. They did help Toledo's free-fall and gave Central Michigan a game of it, managing to close it to a 10 point margin at the end of the game. But have y'all just run out of luck or something?

Well, no not really. We're 10-0. You forget that?

We'll see where they're ranked. Remember when Auburn was #6. That's the kind of stupid shite you point to, then wonder why someone calls you on it.

Well, if you beat Michigan and Michigan State they will both drop out of the Top 10. So, pick your poison I guess.

And thank god no Alabama fan is going to claim a win over #6 Auburn after the Iron Bowl.

They would if it was played in September and you know it.

Haven't seen any Alabama people claiming a Top 10 win over UGA in Athens or a Top 10 win over Texas A&M.
They are wins over teams that will finish 8-4 and 9-3, probably. Still good wins. Not Top 10 wins.

Probably, but an 11-2 Michigan State team probably finished top ten, and a 10-3 Ann Arbor wouldn't be far off.

You aren't looking hard enough. There are literally two of them posting in this thread.

But records and rankings post-bowl don't really matter to this discussion.
10-2 Michigan State will be ranked somewhere between 10-15 and 9-3 Michigan will be ranked somewhere between 13-20. 12-1 Iowa probably somewhere between 7-10 depending on how they look in the game.

Just read through every post in this thread and there is nothing even close to that. Maybe you could point it out.

SEC is crap this year. When you have a team that loses to Toledo, will finish 2nd in the West, that tells you a lot.
Posted on 11/16/15 at 3:22 pm to DisplacedBuckeye
Not sure why Michigan is even ranked at 14 right now. They almost beat MSU, and that's their claim to fame? They have a loss to Utah as well.
Either way, you can count that as a top 10 win, but it'll be just as funny as counting Georgia when they both finish 9-3.

This is an ongoing discussion.

I agree. Now, I wonder where LSU, Georgia, and A&M will be ranked.

As I said, ongoing. I'm not digging for it. Maybe they'll fess up.

End of the regular season?
- LSU (say they finish 9-3) probably #19 or so
- Georgia (say they finish 9-3) probably #20 or so
- Texas A&M (say they finish 8-4) probably unranked
- Wisconsin will be ranked in the top 20
- Florida will be ranked in the Top 15 or Top 10
- Tennessee will be ranked in the 20-25 range
- State or Arkansas, depending on who wins out, will probably be ranked in the 20-25 range
So wins over #10, #15, #19, #20, #22, #25 plus wins over bowl bound 6-6 Auburn, 7-5 MTSU and bowl bound either Arky/MSU.
9 wins over bowl teams. Pretty decent.

They had a string of very impressive defensive performances, and that's about it. Maybe just to keep their fans from abandoning the team.

I'll count them as what they are, same as you should be doing.

Yeah, well - Ohio State fans wear jerseys to games and tie sweaters and jackets around their waists like women.
Saw it first hand. Embarrassing.

LSU finishes 9-2
Georgia finishes 9-3
TAMU finishes 8-4
Florida finishes 11-2
But you're leaving out:
Wisconsin finishes 10-2
Arkansas, MSU, Tennessee all could finish anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3.
So, yeah. Use rankings when they're in your favor, but ignore actual records.
