I see your point. Bama athletics trumps life and death of family. You think it would make any difference if Seton Hall had a slav ....... uh player to trade or just offered to by her outright in the fine Alabama tradition.

When did Saban become the AD at Alabama? Kind of move I would expect from his callous midget bear heart.

Alabama did release her and since the NCAA denied her request to play immediately, Seton Hall is giving her a two year scholarship to allow her to get an MBA and play next year.
Well now, THIS changes everything doesn't it?
You do realize this happens often in sports outside of football right?
Lots of college athletes use athletic scholarships to help pay for grad school. Pretty smart if you ask me as they not only got into grad school but secured a way to pay for it.

I love how the Bama fans show up and say they did release her. They use their rhetoric like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is crucial.
Until recently, they released her from her scholarship, but would not allow her to take advantage of the two separate waivers that she qualified for under NCAA rules which would allow her to play immediately. This is after they spent weeks trying to force her to stay at Bama by refusing to release her at all and making her get an attorney to get the process rolling.
Here is the timeline for those that are interested and not just blatant apologists.

No. Except at Tennessee.
So when 24,000 folks show up to watch 2 teams not named Tennessee play a regular season non conference women's basketball game you are still in denial?
You need to get out more often.

Because people kept saying they didn't release her. Ignorance of the facts of this story is no excuse to say others are playing semantic games. If you are interested in the facts of the case they are here.

Women's basketball.

The facts are in my link and let me tell you, the more one knows about the situation, the more Alabama looks like the petulant, backwards, stupid, wrong priority having, tree-poisoning, call-into-Finebaum's-show place we all think it is.
There is a reason that ladies are leaving that program by the half-dozen. I suspect it is the same reason that Alabama stood in Daisha's way. It all makes a lot of sense when you view it in toto.

He may already have a boss who got their degree because of college sports. Judges, doctors, and all sorts of professionals have a sports scholarship in their past.
As for former Arkansas ball players, Tiffany Wait played for Lake Hamilton and went to UK on scholarship. UK's Pharmacy program was Top 5 at the time I think and pretty sure she used her scholarship for grad school there.

Yeah...none of them were good except for Simmons. She was the only one that left on her own will.

It's the Alabama women's program. Their best team in 12 years finished 10th in the conference and 7-9.

There is no reason to believe that these women were significantly worse than the women who played the previous dozen years, given that that team was much better.
Either the players are bitter and whiny as Bama fans clearly believe, or the program has real problems at the top. Here is another player's account posted on Swish Appeal.

Well, they were the worst players on an already bad team. They weren't Curry's recruits and she wanted to make room for her recruits so she told them to leave.

The only bitter player about being cut is Brittany Jack.

It's a new staff. There are always defections and sour grapes from players when a new coaching staff comes in. It happened when Gottfried took over the men's team from Hobbs, and when Grant took over from Gottfried.
But there are problems at the top of the Alabama athletic department, no question.

That simply isn't true, given the reasons that they told Simmons she couldn't transfer is they were already "down a scholarship and it was too late to replace her." It is simply an after the fact justification being furnished by a program that, at the least, suffered from very poor judgment.

There is no way you could even know that. The only one who has written an article at this time is Brittany Jack. I'd be surprised if the other players who were cut "weren't bitter" because I think we all know being cut is hard and no one really takes that well.

Brittany Jack, Emily Davis, Courtney Hunter, and Kara Rawls were all cut before the Simmons situation.
One of our top signees Coco Baker, ultimately ended up not getting into school. That left us in a predicament. Then with Simmons leaving so late, we weren't able to replace her with another guard. We were lucky Dede Martinez fell into our laps so late, but she only helped with post depth. But please try to act like you know more about Alabama's program than I do.
