FSU could not have stopped Coker from xferring. Bama can block Simmons from xferring because she already xferred before which Coker did not do.

Maybe. At the same time, she has a degree, she's an adult, she can go and be with her family, which is more important.

I think Alabama is handling this in a petulant manner, but it's also dumb how this will be played as Alabama standing between her and a dying family member. You're an adult Simmons, go do what adults do.

Which is even more hypocritical seeing as that transfer benefitted Alabama.

No win situation for Bama. You either lose a player or keep a jilted, pissed off one. And the media roasts you in the mean time.

I definitely see the side of that argument too. there's a morality and selfishness issue on both sides.

That being sai, Alabama shouldn't block the move

Agreed, there is just no benefit and it's the right thing to do.

Alabama did release her and since the NCAA denied her request to play immediately, Seton Hall is giving her a two year scholarship to allow her to get an MBA and play next year.

I don't think schools in Mississippi have the most unblemished history with black female students, but okay.

All the big basketball people are talking about this. Even Olbermann made Curry/Battle the worst people in sports

According to Alabama, they do. Also, she told the staff she was coming back up through May, and even signed a lease on an apartment. I think Alabama should release her, but there is another side to the story. She didn't handle the process as well as she should have, nor did Alabama.

57 shouldn't have been rolling into Days' path. Dillion Day helps those with cancer and brings water to the refs, bama blocks a girl from being with her brother in the last stages of his life. Day >> Bama
