Here's the problem as I see it. You have your hard core fans (not 5k of them mind you) that are going to attend no matter what. They are "all in".

The challenge becomes turning the casual fans and the students into more devoted fans. The stadium is nearly unbearable in full sun when the temps get to the mid 80s. Forget temps in the 90s. It is unbearable with the humidity.

The place is a sterile unappealing boxish venue. They did some nice renovations several years back but it's still lipstick on a pig.

If they build a modern stadium (doesn't have to be 12k seats) I firmly believe that attendance will rise.

One of the challenges in Florida is every damn thing has to be an event. It just can't be a game.

I think outside of LSU and maybe 1 or 2 other places that have championship history the best way to draw fans is to be good, have a nice facility and make it an "event". Baseball is an event at Ole Miss and State. Baseball has become an event at Alabama for the students, and it is the thing to do. Now, they have a nice facility for paying fans to sit in, and if they win it will keep them there.

That's my thought on it all.

Baseball is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite sport but right up there with football in terms of watching a live game. Going to a baseball game is great if you are just trying to have a laid back viewing experience.

Which is why having a nice venue is a big deal. Going to a glorified high school stadium where things are falling apart just isn't going to help invite in curious people looking for a fun spring afternoon with their kids.

Agreed, I think that has more to do with getting people to go to the games than the actual record of the teams that are playing but it helps.

Yea, you definitely need a mix of the two. Having a nice stadium to bring folks in and then adding to that a good product that gets people excited makes it much more likely they will come back.

Only protects linedrives and bats being slung. Setup actually allows more foul balls to fans. But since you're being the negaballer, please carry on. Or is it Carrie?

Third time's the charmer.
