still bothers me that the student section isn't bigger.

Is general admission = student sections?

I was checking out the seating chart. If true, that sucks. Only way out in the OF.

Except that you show up in every baseball thread. For those who can't, there's kickball.
What does that have to do with the university not having the baseball fanbase to justify a 10k stadium?

I have no idea. Bama has a strong following, but isn't as prominent as LSU in terms of prestige. Just like the strong following for Bama gymnastics and softball, because they win a lot.

Bama has a respectable history in baseball though, just hasn't sustained any success lately, so naturally, the interest level drops off.

I'm not surprised the student section isn't of epic proportions. I use to go to the games (for free) almost every good weather weekday home game and there may not have been 100-200 students there. Those were NCAA regional teams too

That was right when the 1st base bleachers were extended. That was the best deal in entertainment on campus besides ladies soccer

Do the students still just get to walk/swipe in for the "new" stadium?

You have to have your ACT card, swipe it, and show your I.D.. Depending on your age is the color of wrist band you get.

The student section in the right field is totally different than what you were used too. Since they've allowed coolers and alcohol, the "Right Field Ragers" was created and there has been a huge following and interest. I waited for 3 hours to get in because there were 1000s of students in line before me. There was a shite ton more that got turned away unfortunately. The line stretched from the entrance to the playground.

Here's a pretty good look:

Really wish we had spent 40 million towards a new basketball facility that would actually get used.

Thanks for the info GB. The "right field ragers," makes me kinda excited to think about. I can't believe the university did something that cool these days. I seriously want to make a gallon of riot punch and join in - lol

As nice as LSU stadium is the administration missed an opportunity so far to do something cool with the outfield like the Students in Starkvielle and Oxford and apparently Bama have done now.

Maybe the administration is just scared of what it could become due to our "party school" reputation and just want to keep it toned down but I think they are missing an opportunity for great autmosphere in the outfield if they made a student section berm or something of this sort.

I can't say that I've ever seen a stadium with screens around the entire field. I'm not really a fan but I guess it keeps people safe.

New stadium looks very nice. Had a student ID to use but the line was ridiculously long

Nice stadium! I guess y'all shot your wad on the stadium and that's why you don't have an announcer for the SEC Network, and still only one camera? Bama can put on a better show than that.
