work on his medium to deep throws

The guy has missed very few deep throws this year.

He also has the highest QB rating in the nation. Definitely needs a lot of improvement.

Yes because being EFFICIENT in college , behind the best oline in CFB, is the same as being NFL ready. Come on. I saw every single Bama game and he is no where near as good , throwing the deep ball,as he could be. He doesn't have an elite arm.

Our o-lines pass blocking isn't that good.

should at minimum be a 6 yr NFL QB. Maybe all as a back up, but still beats the heck out of a desk job. I mean, seriously: Charlie Batch, Byron Leftwich, Chad Henne, Jordan Palmer, Tyrod Taylor, D Orlovsky, Joe Webb, McLeod Bethel-Thompson, Matt Lienert and Terrell Pryor...these are just a sample of Five NFL teams. Any one saying that AJ McCarron can't take one of these guy's job? NFL goes through QBs,...Tyrod Taylor C'mon Man.

Here is a mock draft that has AJ going #1 overall THIS draft not next.

As far-fetched as that might seem, somehow I don't doubt it in your case.

But your analysis is shitty. Or probably tainted by your hate. He throws the deep ball very well. He's thrown more bombs for TD's this year than I can remember from any Bama QB.

You do not need an elite arm to be NFL QB. Alex Smith has started in the NFL and he doesn't have an elite arm, but he can make all the throws. AJ can make all the necessary NFL throws. Go back and watch last years BCS championship game if you can take the pain. Those throws he was making in that game were NFL throws.

The kid will be a 5th or 6th round pick in next years draft unless he improves his stock.

Yes because Bama is know. For that high flying , air raid offense. Get over it. He needs work on his medium to deep passes to e successful in the NFL. He over threw and under threw many deep balls this year. I'm not saying he sucks at this , at all. AJ is a smart and efficient qb , that rarely makes a mistake. His deep ball might seem fine at Bama , where sometimes the wr has two steps on the db( or in A Cooper's case , 3-4 steps). The windows in the NFL are far smaller. Sorry you don't like this , but it's true.

On passes over 20 yards, mccarron was the most efficient QB in the country. Everyone needs to improve, but they're all chasing AJ on deep ball accuracy

If you'd like to remind us all where these "many" missed passes were, I have all the games on DVD. I can make us a lengthy montage that you can fap to.

Oh, I bet you can't remember specifics, or don't have the time to write it all down, right? Just a loose opinion based on two plays that you happen to remember?

I can name two just in the LSU game. Do you not remember the blown coverage and Bama's receiver running free and AJ missed him by 5 yards? That was just the first series. He also had a deep in route where he threw it behind your te. That's just the first half of LSU.
Regardless of what I say , you'll never admit AJ isn't perfect. I've repeatedly said AJ is a good qb, but he needs to work on some things before he is ready for the NFL and if you asked him the same question , he would tell you the same. DWI

Just FTR what's your definition of a "deep ball" and how many deep balls are thrown on average per NFL game? 2, 3?

Yeah I guess that screen pass to Yeldon counts as a 40 yard PASS , when it was nothing of the sort. If you Gumps can't admit that AJ has trouble throwing the deep ball, then you're blind homer. But since he is almost NFL ready then he must be projected as a 1st rounder.
I'm sure Teague thinks AJ ha an elite arm too.

needs to be more decisive, or just have more confidence in his throws, it seems like every other play he panics and tries to scramble, then they show the replay and he has like 2 people open
Yeah notice he got "happy feet" after going through his 1st reads and holding the ball a little too long when playing a good defense and took several sacks for a loss instead of just throwing the ball away.

That being said AJ is still a good QB and I had a very good feeling that he would come back.

He's a "BamaBoy" or so his tat reads.

AJ bleeds Crimson and I am thrilled that he will be back for his senior year.
