He is actually right. I know a coach that says that all aspects of the program revolve around the defense, and that all practices reflect that. Saban dictates everything they do on offense and coaches absolutely can't speak out or differ from what he says. The coach did say, however, that Kirby is actually the only one that can express an opinion without getting reamed. He actually said that some assistants not named Kirby have been told by Saban to shut the frick up when speaking out of turn. He told them he would show them the door if they dared speak again without his permission.
If Saban has one weakness, that would be it. He absolutely will not hand the reins of the offense over to anyone, but he implicitly trusts Kirby. Take it for what it's worth. Also, don't eat his oatmeal cream pies, but everybody knows that. That being said, hard to argue with the results.

"Oh gosh, it's AJ McCarron," Fran Tarkenton said on air. "Did he go to class? Did he make the league or not? He needs to be quiet. He was so fortunate to play in that program. He's an average quarterback at best. He played fine, but he couldn't have played anywhere else but Alabama."
