Saban is Tubs 2.0? I've been saying this for years. The only difference between Saban and Tubs is, Saban actually recruits while Tubs duck hunts.

The other difference between the two is four BCS championships to zero.

Two things that I believe........

1. Saban will get things straightened out. He is too good and his ego is too big to allow himself to fall to the middle of the pack. This season may not one of his better ones though. It happens to every coach from time to time. The fact that everyone is jizzing themselves over Saban showing chinks in his armor is really just a sign of how impressed they have been with him and the program he has built at Alabama.

2. AJ McCarron is proving to be quite the douche nozzle. I hate it but there's no point in denying it.

Amazes me that Bama posters take up for this guy... Obviously Saban's methods work pretty good to the tune of 3 national championships...

Blind loyalty. To be fair though, Bama fans aren't the first group to overlook blatant douchery in a qb because he won on the field.

Yeah, it's worked so far but it looks like some tweaking is needed if he wants to stay at or near the top. The "imposing your will" tactic doesn't look like it's going to cut it anymore against the better teams.

While you post in a Bama thread.

AJ is still in yours.

Very true. 11-2 is a "failure" for Saban and Alabama these days. Let that actually sink in and just enjoy the ride. Alabama fans should be impervious to trolls with the success of this program, but unfortunately too many have short memories and/or a lack of perspective.

Any Heisman voter that put AJ on their ballot should be ashamed of themselves. The reason they didn't throw on first down is because AJ sucked and being in third and long was something to be avoided at all costs. Look at the Oklahoma game. AJ was so mediocre he redefined the word.

Is this actually newsworthy?

Of course Saban handcuffs his OCs, he is a defensive minded head coach. You think OCs care a lick about risking bad situations for their defense?

McCarron isn't a douche for saying this, he is a moron for not realizing it would play negatively. Of course, anything other than 'all hail saban our tide lord and savior' gets interpretted as blasphemy to varying degrees amongst the joyous breadth of tide nation.

A fairly decent coach once said "The same thing wins that always won, we just have a bunch of different excuses when we lose." He was right then, and he's right now.

McCarron speaks, tigers listen.

More than they ran? You need to watch your games.

No what he is saying is that the topic (whatever it is) is about Alabama and can be construed in a negative light, so it's "newsworthy" to our Tiger brethren, among others. The content doesn't really matter.

Was that coach Bear Bryant? If so, he did switch to the wishbone for a reason.

Blocking, tackling, running, throwing and catching will always be the required fundamentals but when everybody else starts doing those things as well as you, it's time to throw in a new wrinkle.

Saban didn't trust AJ in third and long so he tried to avoid it by running the ball.

Or he knew that with the quality of his defense and running game that passing a lot was an unnecessary risk.
