Would not mind AJ being here. Watched him almost beat the Broncos in late December, not half bad.

Why do you completely dismiss the McCarron to Osweiler comparison?

You have no clue what you're talking about regarding contracts or money. First off don't compare McCarron to Osweiler. Second off McCarron wouldn't be in the "median middle of the pack" of QBs, he'd be in the very bottom at around $3.5mil a year. Based on your idea McCarron should be making the same money as guys like Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Carson Palmer, Matthew Stafford, and in the low end Jamesi Winston and Blake Bortles just to name a few.
Holy shite
I, literally, just showed you what an unknown QB's 2nd contract would look like. Yet you're telling me he should make the same amount as a QB who's on their rookie contract?
On top of it all YOU are telling ME I don't know how this works?
You're trolling right? You can't honestly be this dumb.

AJ isn't even on of the best back up qb's in the league and y'all are talking about him starting. Good luck with that shite

AJ looked better than Osweiler in his starts.
That's a fact.

Tell us what backup QBs are better than McCarron.

Can't be a fact because it's an openiated observation and that's a fact
Posted on 3/10/16 at 1:26 pm to RB10
He is unknown. Might as well be a rookie... BTW Bortles isn't a rookie dumbass. 5 games isn't a telling sign to a $48 million contract. Maybe $12-$15. Osweiler has been in the league 5 years, under the greatest QB ever, and has proven he can take the reigns. And no you have no clue what you're talking about.

Tell me how Osweiler has proven more than McCarron
Posted on 3/10/16 at 1:27 pm to SECSolomonGrundy
I would but once again it's all openiated so you probably will not agree with my list. In my eyes AJ is just a little better than Greg McElroy and even he had a few good games

You do know a rookie contract is longer than just 1 year, correct?

But 8 is enough to pay Osweiler $72 million, right?

Osweiler has been in the league for 4 years, actually.

Pretty much everything you've said is almost entirely incorrect. On top of that, you've made it painfully obvious that you have no idea how NFL contracts actually work.

Lots of rumbling about a possible deal to get AJ to Denver. Not a whole lot out there in free agency QBs right now
That's just the loose screws in your head.

Even I'm beginning to think

AJ played in 2 huge games at the end of the year for the Bengals against the Super Bowl champs and one of 8 best teams in the league and he went
39/62 (63%)
360 yards
3 TD / 0 INT
He more than handled himself. Doesn't mean he's going to be Brett Favre, but you can see why his limited action plus his tools make him a favorable option for a team like Denver who doesn't have an early pick.
The other options were
Chase Daniel
Thad Lewis
Kellen Clemens
Matt Cassel
Matt Schaub
RG3
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Matt Moore
Bruce Gradkowski
Tavaris Jackson
Scott Tolzien
Charlie Whitehurst
Luke McCown
Dan Orlovsky
So, you tell me, would you roll with one of them next year or pull the trigger on a deal for AJM if you think he can be an NFL starter?

As a Texans fan and someone living in Houston, we are not stupid enough to believe he merits that pay increase. It's just the market for a guy like him right now. Pay up or get screwed again with 4 different starting QB's.

Osweiler is going into his 5th year, 4 completed with 21 games played in. I'm not defending Osweiler, really don't give two-shits about him but he has more for scouts and coaches to base a contract of than McCarron. I'm really just crushing your terrible suggestion that Denver should pay AJ McCarron $48million for 4 years. This is why you're on a computer and not next to Elway.
