Clearly we only had one good defensive player. I mean the player who caused McCarron's first interception (Howard Matthews - current JR) and second interceptions (Deshazor Everett - current JR) aren't eligible anymore, nor is the player who ran a pick six through the Ole Miss line (Steven Jenkins - current SR) or the one who scored on a fumble return against Arkansas (Tramaine Jacobs - current SR).

Nope, no good defensive players left.

It must take significant effort to be as full of shite as you are. I applaud your efforts.

your attempt to list all this talent can only show #s 3 and 4 making plays against Ole Miss and Arkansas. lol. Very impressive.

FWIW, Manziel looked like shite this time last year. Maybe that's just his spring form?

Trey didn't play at the scrimmage because I think of a thigh injury (I could be wrong), but he got some game time last year and he looked real good.

Yea I remember him getting it going starting with our game (frick). I was curious to see his improvement.

Ah that sucks, I guess thankfully for him that's usually only for ~4-6 weeks so he'll be ready to go for summer practice.

I do hope he gets severe temporary Rheumatoid Fumblitis at the end of September, though.

You guys will lose to Bama. Look at Saban's record for playing teams twice. He rarely loses a second time. Plus you will be our first big game.

Of course you conveniently left out the plays against Alabama...and only went by tackles and sacks completely neglecting the fact that, out of our 12 picks, players making 8 of those return.

For the record, the following defensive starters return:

DE Julien Obioha (SO): 25 tackles, 1.5 TFL (1.0 sacks), 6 PBU, 1 FF, 4 QBH

DT Kirby Ennis (RSSR): 24 tackles, 2.0 TFL (1.0 sacks)

LB Steven Jenkins (SR): 78 tackles, 5.5 TFL (2.0 sacks), 2 PBU, 2 FF, 2 QBH, 1 INT (TD)

CB Deshazor Everett (JR): 56 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 7 PBU, 2 INT (1 TD)

CB Devante Harris (SO): 30 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 3 PBU, 1 FF, 1 INT

SS Howard Matthews (JR): 58 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 6 PBU, 1 QBH

and the following contributors return as well:

Donnie Baggs (new starter at MLB, JR): 27 tackles, 4.5 TFL (1.5 sacks), 2 PBU, 2 QBU, 1 INT

Toney Hurd (Nickel, SR): 52 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 1 INT

Tramaine Jacobs (CB, SR): 22 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 INT, 1 FR (TD)

Floyd Raven (new starter at FS, JR): 16 tackles, 2.5 TFL (1.0 sacks), 1 PBU, 1 QBH, 1 INT

Clearly players don't get better from one year to the next.

No, but it shoots the crap out of your "you lose your only good defensive player" argument, when Moore only had two tackles against Alabama and Oklahoma combined.

You act like alabama was the only game of the season and any player who made a play in that game is jesus or if they didn't make plays, they were meaningless. The little fat white DT was one of your best players against Bama, he is gone. Clearly, that means big trouble by your logic. Evans played horrendous in the Bama game, uh oh.

Posting a list of guys that mostly did nothing doesn't really prove that Moore wasn't your only stud on defense. Obioha will need to play about 175 games to get 12.5 sacks at this rate.

I love the desperation on here for manziel to suck. The offense will be better next season. The only thing that might hurt them is the defense not getting off the field quick enough to give the offense more possessions. The defense, because of the unknowns, is the only thing I'm concerned about. But then I look at the schedule and I'm all good again.

The only thing I've learned from message board predictions 5 months and 100+ practices before the football season, played by 18-22 year olds, starts is that your assumptions end up being wrong over half of the time, good or bad.

This makes me believe that your offense will not score as much as last year (not necessarily bad as long as you control the clock more), your defense will be better than you expect, and your schedule will be tougher than you expect.

Win/loss/record predictions this time of the year are about as useful as ventilated condoms.
