I definitely would not want him in his capacity as an "aTm recruitment insider?" (I really have no idea what you'd actually call him) for LSU. How someone like him finds himself wrapped up in the shite he gets into, I have no idea.

Yeah. Recruiting insider I guess.

He should understand the context of using boy like that but Malik Jefferson is 19 years old. It isn't the same as walking up to a 30 year old black man and calling him.

Still should have thought before he tweeted/talked/whatever.

I don't really know or care about any of this, but it did immediately remind me of that scene in Blazing Saddles. "Watch that 'boy' shite, redneck."

As a black man, I think this one was a bit blown out of proportion. You have to look at the context of how it was said. Jefferson referred to him as "son". He replied equally and fairly.

Pipe down Shawn.

Ditto.

Like I said, I've met Hamm. He ain't racist. Just made a stupidly worded tweet here, IMO.

This. I'm not one that thinks the term "boy" can have no racist overtones. But alternatively, not every reference to a black person as boy is racial. And I certainly don't think the response was out of line from a racial perspective. Juvenile for someone in his position (or any mature adult) to get in a Twitter slap fight, but not racist imo and the reaction was way overblown.

I'm not one to overlook racism and racist acts that still exist today, but this is just stupid that we waste time making big deals out of nothingness like this.

Kind of pisses me off that some look for sht like this so they can put their face on the Mt. Rushmore of those who fight/fought real racism and inequality.

A lot of other credible material out there.

Just my opinion, but I think the overreactions, such happened on this Twitter non-story, hurt the message when real racism is being pointed out. People become desensitized and/or just think someone is making excuses due to numerous false claims. There are enough real problems to worry about.

I wouldn't know. As I indicated, the two aren't necessarily related.

Glad to hear some real talk instead of pc talk.
Why Malik would be calling anyone outside of close teammates "son" is beyond me...
