Alabama stole Rammer Jammer from Ole Miss then the Kansas City Chiefs stole Rammer Jammer from Alabama (or their version of it)

The Cincinnati Bengals fans morphed the Saints 'Who Dat' into 'Who Dey.' (Not that it matters, don't like either one.)

Only 3 SEC stadiums (to my knowledge) have nicknames:
The Swamp, The Jungle, and Death Valley...

This is like an average college team historically that named their stadium the Coliseum before USC claiming the rights to it. Both can and will keep that name and 1 of them is going to be the more famous one forever. Billy Cannon, Earthquake, multiple titles, and all the lore created by the night games and quotes from famous visitors.

Did South Carolina’s eyeballs shake at Clemson? Can you smell Bourbon on their field?

Anyone who was at a big time game in both stadiums know this isn’t a competition. 2003 UGA, 2007 Florida, 2012 Bama before Yeldon’s TD, etc. Those are environments that change your life.

i don't see why the other calling it the same thing upsets either of these fanbases. But i look forward to the outcry.

Especially given that Clemson admittedly ripped off Auburn's entire athletic department when it started its own.

w/e

Tell them we want the rights to Tiger Rag back.

They ruined that song.

...Hell, we were "Tigers" first. Let them keep "Death Valley" (if they can get the rights from the REAL Death Valley) and get a new mascot.

Tubbs (or auburn staff at that time) tried it, no one, and i mean no one paid it any mind.

Is it Auburn? Cause they called it that like 20 years ago and it never stuck. Or does Mizzou call their stadium that?

Could have been...it was a very forgettable moment. I think maybe tiger raggs printed a shirt for it...they're all still stuffed in a box somewhere in storage.

You act like they didn't put a sign up and play Welcome to the Jungle for the past decade and a half at home games.

Admittedly, Auburn fans don't call it that, but the administration has barely noticed.

He got you there, Corndogs. Touche.

Did you not read the linked article?

I'll quote it for you:

quote:

LSU: Tiger Stadium was allegedly called “Deaf Valley” because of the stadium’s deafening noise but, as former LSU sports information director Bud Johnson told The Advocate, morphed into “Death Valley” after LSU and Clemson played each other in the 1959 Sugar Bowl.

LSU won the game, 7-0, and won the national championship - thereby winning the rights to the name.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

It's been done.

Maybe I've always just been too damn drunk to notice, but I don't recall this for years and years.

I'm talking opposing fanbases experiences.

They don't have the testimonials LSU does. They don't have the history in their stadium LSU does.

Ours has been called Death Valley for over 50 years. Its the more famous of the two. We beat them in the 1959 Sugar Bowl to end this argument.
