Holy shite, I'm agreeing with a Bama fan! The end of the world is near! For the very first time in my life I'm going to say it... Roll Tide. Your post deserves it! Thank you so much for understanding how the majority of the LSU fanbase feels. I don't see why so many people have a problem with us wanting championships.
Just being honest. LSU has two running backs that would start over any RB at Alabama this year and they had about 130 yes rushing total last Saturday. I like Mikes and think he is a great guy but that is unacceptable. There is clearly something about the way offense is played today that he does not get. I think he has been treated fairly and given plenty of time and for some reason he just can't seem to correct the problem. We have the same conversations every year.
No QB development
The backup needs to take more snaps
Open up the playbook
It's the same shite every year and he clearly doesn't get it. If he lines up in November and runs that shite show he put on the field Saturday at a NicknSaban defense it will be ugly. It is time for a change in BR and that is my opinion. He may prove me wrong and I will eat crow if he does but I don't see it happening. I guess we will just wait another year and see. The problem I have is seeing all of that talent sit there with no production. The players are frustrated and to me it looks like they have lost faith in the fact the he can beat a good football team with his game planning. It appears to an objective fan that he doesn't have the tools to take LSU to the level they are capable of playing at.

It's very clear you're threatened by the idea of LSU hiring a new coach. You have no problem shitting on Les Miles while at LSU but then feign outrage when LSU fans say they've had enough. Guys like you, Dake Denton, and Champagne have spent more time defending Les Miles the past few days than you have talking about your own team. It's sad, really
You can sense the fear in them

LSU fans are in the same place as Bama fans were with Gene Stallings. Like Miles, Stallings came in and had great success early and won a title. Great guy, hugely respected, everyone loved him, and he won a lot of games.
However, it seemed as time went on the college game passed him by. We would have a great regular season, win the west, but then lose to Spurrier and Florida. Spurrier was running his Fun n' Gun and putting up a lot of points and we just could not get over the hump again. Our defenses would be sick but he ran a three yards and a cloud of dust offense that just wasn't getting it done. Fans got frustrated as did the AD.
LSU fans are just in the same place with Miles as Bama fans were with Stallings or UGA fans were with Richt.

UT with Fulmer
Texas with Brown
Michigan with Carr
FSU with Bowden
This is not some unprecedented situation. It happens every few years.

There is absolutely no surer sign that it's time to fire a coach than when the opposing fans who hate you the most want you to keep him.

I'm not saying you shouldn't fire him, just saying top coaches won't subject themselves to such high expectations. If you're happy trading Les for Kiffin, Briles, a coordinator, or an up and comer then go for it.

You think Jimbo is going to leave FSU to take a job where 10 win seasons and occasional conference championships will get him shite canned? Especially when it's harder to get to 10 wins in the SEC West than it is anywhere else in the nation? Especially when you have to compete with Saban's Alabama team every year just to win your division? If you think that then I have some ocean front property to sell you in Arkansas.

He would take the job to have it better. It's far easier to recruit at LSU than FSU. And frankly, any coach worth a damn with regards to X's & O's should not have a problem winning 10 games at LSU every year.
We don't need / ask for a title every year, but we do demand we be in the hunt every year and NOT be embarrassed.
LSU should be an easy place for a coach to win.

what would be better? i don't necessarily agree with the premise of the whole thread- i mean my personal opinion on les- however i don't see why in the world jimbo would leave fsu for lsu. that's not trying to be a slight towards lsu either but why would he do that?

Well for starters he was certainly about to do it last year for about 6.5 mil a year until politics stepped in.
Jimbo has roots here, so combine that with a big paycheck it's not hard to figure out why he might want to come here. Good coaches aren't worried about high expectations. Why did Saban go to Bama knowing they would expect multiple championships?
That all being said I dont know if Jimbo is still a viable option after what happened last year. Dont know if he'd listen again after we almost had something done then it all fell through.

Champagne have spent more time defending Les Miles
My position on LSU and Les Miles is this: for years, Miles has been stealing money from LSU by pretending to be a football coach. The ignorant LSU fans have been defending him for years, probably because they have no idea how to recognize a well-disciplined organization.
When has a Les Miles coached football team at LSU ever played Four Quarters of well-disciplined, well-coached, well-prepared, crisp and mental-mistake-free football? Maybe once? Maybe never?
So, the LSU fans are all pissy like Missy these days. It's a little amusing because I could tell years ago that this Miles guy was stealing 4.5 million a year from LSU pretending to be a football coach.
Welcome to reality, LSU football fans -- you've been ripped off by a confidence man. You guys are very slow learners, but, welcome to reality!

is fsu broke or something- they couldn't pony up the same or more? roots- being the oc or something more?

The problem at LSU isn't record. It's that the wins aren't even fun. It's possible to lose a game and still be proud of your team. But the way LSU loses never leaves that possibility. And hell, most of their wins are terribly ugly and without any offensive inspiration.
It wasn't always that way. And there have been periods (Mett's last year) when there was a glimpse of magic. But the LSU offense makes the game miserable to watch.

Jimbo also has family issues going on and seems like he may be looking for change, especially after what we saw last season.
FSU is paying him 5 mil, so 6.5 mil would be a significant upgrade, they certainly may very well offer a match to that, but again that might not be enough to keep him there. I'm not sure what's sop hard to understand about Jimbo possibly wanting to come here, especially for top dollar, being here previously and possibly wanting a change of scenery to begin with.

The only reason Jimbo would leave FSU for LSU is that he likes BR and LSU that much more than FSU. According to just about everyone who knows Jimbo, this is actually true and he's close friends with some big time boosters here.
Other than that, there's no reason for him to come here because FSU can match anything we offer for sure.

You might be one of about 4 people here outside of LSU fans that understand the dynamic.
LSU fans would be happy for Miles to stay if, IF, he was willing to adapt the offense the same way Alabama has.
