Sorry I'm late to this party. I was busy being a jackass elsewhere on the board.

I think it's 3 actually. Tied with Purdue for the most.

You made the statement “by my logic AJ and JF is better than Andrew Luck” based off me saying AJ and JF because they have accomplished more is better than Aaron Murray...all I’m saying now is you can’t compare a Aaron Murray to a Andrew Luck...if Andrew Luck was the SEC 1st team QB then there would be NO complaints...but Aaron Murray is not even a better QB than JF or AJ, those 3 are so close imo, how would the guy who basically haven’t accomplished anything be a 1st team SEC QB, heck at least win a big first.

Team accomplishments do not add to individual players skills. Otherwise the number 1 pick of this years draft wouldn't have come from Central Michigan.

There you go again acting like one player wins a championship. That has only ever been true for one player, and Herschel Walker is well out of eligibility.

It is Fran Tarkenton, btw. Not like you have room to talk when Namath is the last QB from your school even worth mentioning.

But apparently they can subtract from them, since people constantly dog on Murray's (UGA's) record against ranked teams.

Doesn't that say more about the team, than Aaron Murray? :beatdeadhorse:

When it comes to QB’s I believe team accomplishments does make a difference imo, they are the leader of team, and employers would like to know there QB has lead a team to accomplish something in the past...I don’t believe Cam Newton would have been drafted #1 if auburn didn’t go to the NC that year.

You'd think, but it doesn't fit his argument. Just like the defense carried David Greene to be the all time winningest QB in NCAA history upon graduating, it's also been the downfall of many losses during Murray's tenure.

That link does not include 2012, where it seems Murray really struggled against ranked SEC teams.

So if instead of beating bama by 1 they lost by a touchdown, Carolina would've changed their minds?

We will joke about it but NFL scouts wont.

I thought he was asking "played in". My bad. Interesting that Tarkenton alone played in just one fewer Super Bowl than all Alabama QBs combined.

He was on the Vikings to be fair, not like he had any real chance to win a Super Bowl playing for that franchise. They've only ever appeared in 4 SBs, losing them all, but Fran carried them to 3 of those. Put him on the Jets or the Packers and he'd have a ring or two.

You're right, I made that prior to the season.

SC-he stunk. The whole team stunk. We didn't do squat but we did give up 35 points.

UF- he stunk. But we won. So if people are going to hold it against him when the defense does bad, it should also count when the defense does well

bama- not awesome, but solid. Equal or better numbers to AJ across the board.

neb- oustanding, against the #1 pass D in teh country.
