Against inferior opposition, Murray did fine.

Against USC, UF, and Bama?

41-88, 524 yards (175 per game), 2 TDs, 5 INTs, 10 carries for -18 yards.

By contrast, AJ against his three best opponents (A&M, LSU, UGA):

48-82, 636 yards (212 per game), 3 TDs, 3 Ints, 8 carries for 8 yards, 1TD.

And JFF's (LSU, Bama, UF):
76-117, 702 yards (234 per game), 2 TDs, 3 Ints, 52 carries for 179 yards, 1 TD

While one could easily make a case for JFF as first string, and potentially AJ (for the better TD/INT ration, but that's it), there's literally NO argument for Murray to be ahead of either of them. Buffalo, Auburn, Kentucky, and Georgia Southern accounted for 14 TDs. Throw in 5 against 58th ranked defense Nebraska and 4 against 60th ranked Ole Miss D, and it becomes evident that he wasn't the best QB in tight games.

UGA won the Florida game in SPITE of Murray, not because of him (3 picks).

Sorry, I just don't see it. Neither QB had a game NEARLY as bad as Murray's USC and UF games, except possibly JFF's LSU game, but JFF at least didn't already have 2 1/2 years as a starter under his belt by then.

No National Championships, Not a heisman winner, Not even a SECCG winner...has he even won a BCS game?...I would agree with him being 1st team IF the SEC didn't have two other QB's who are just as good and have accomplished more (AJ, JM)...he's a good QB but what makes him 1st team over AJ or JM.

by your logic AJ and Johnny were better than Andrew Luck

You're right. He should be #2 behind Manziel.

I forgot it was his fault that we gave up 300 on the ground to Bama.

just because his team isn't the best doesn't mean he is not the best QB in the SEC.

By your logic Aaron Murray is on the same level as Andrew Luck and should be the #1 QB selected in the draft.

I haven’t seen where he’s better than JM or AJ...he losing whenever he plays good completion...it’s not like he isn’t surrounded by NFL talent also UGA has top 10 recruiting classes every year.

Actually, nobody would logically conclude that at all based on what he said.

I'm not getting my jimmies rustled by some butthurt coaches, JFF will be on the postseason first team just like last year, all this does is provide him with even more motivation to kill it again

If you’re putting Andrew Luck career in the same conversation as Aaron Murray then you’re logically considering them on the same page, and thats what he did.

On the field wouldn't trade Manziel for any player in the SEC.

Congrats on the preseason honor to Murray, it's his until the end of the season.

Being a part of a program which leads the nation in preseason national championships alone qualifies Murray for the 1st team spot.

At least LSU fans' unreasonable expectations live on to at least November before they are crushed.

Ummm...you might want to check their defensive rating against the PASS, genius. Nebraska was something like 4th in the country. Alabama 7th and Florida 17th, and SouCar 21st. Don't go by overall defense, and Murray stats were put up against superior competition.

LSU's by comparison was 28th, A&M 86th, and UGA 8th.

Sheds a slightly different light on the subject, no?
