University of Arkansas has seen the benefit of an annual appearance in the Metroplex with increased enrollment from the area and in student-athlete recruiting in all sports.

That says so much in so little words.

what would be interesting is if this eventually cuts deep into recruiting for Texas and especially Oklahoma.

I was told the same, fwiw.

Here's what I was told. Second hand information so take it FWIW.

- WE agreed to Dallas through 2024 in exchange for....

- LSU and A&M are going to be on Thanksgiving (hearing it could be announced soon OR LSU week)

- SEC is probably going to a 9 game SEC schedule in 2014 in conjunction with the SEC Network launching, SO therefore no one loses a Home game weekend. It stays at 7.

Just got a text saying it is 5 million to breach the contract. Don't know if that is per year, or a one time penalty, asking for clarification, but if all you cry babies hate Jerry World so much, put your money where your mouth is.

It will. What people really don't understand about the power of the Red River Shootout is its ability to engage the entire metroplex, even those that don't have ties to either school. An annual SEC GAME in Jerry World(imagine how start struck recruits are going to be) is so powerful because anyone and everyone can easily get to that game and back in the same day under their own power. The week before the entire city gears up and the flags fly in full force. Imagine when that happens to Aggies and Razorbacks? It will really be a game changer for both schools.

Its good exposure for both schools. I just wish there was a way to make the tickets not so damned expensive.

I agree but that comes with the territory. It's not like our tickets in CS are cheap either and I'm sure it's the same for Arkansas

I think a large audience moving forward will be the non-season ticket holder and the non fan. It is the only SEC matchup you can see in A LOT of people's back yards, and some piggie alumni and Former Students do have lives that don't allow them to get season tickets. Having a game that doesn't require a hotel is a big draw, even if it is hard to establish. I really don't see how 10 years of an SEC matchup isn't going to get a LOT of people's attention. The Aggie + piggie population in Dallas is big, and will only get bigger over the next 10 years. I think now that the game has relevance for both teams SEC-wise, the games will be much more packed, and your tickets might be much cheaper than what a secondary market will place them at.

The expensive tickets don't piss me off as much as the parking.
