It would be the AD's call, I'm not sure what he would have to do with it.

So y'all Arky fans will only get 3 home SEC games every year.

I assume y'all play a game in Little Rock as well

A game in Dallas, expansion of Fayetteville while playing a Texas team yearly is the finale nail towards the coffin for Little Rock in 2016.

Hog) Hmmm. I hadn't seen a thread or media release on this, could someone point me to that thread or media release?

The teams will meet as Southeastern Conference foes for the first time on Sept. 29, which gives A&M six home games this season. In 2013, the Razorbacks will host the contest, and then the series is scheduled to resume in Arlington with seven years remaining on the original contract, agreed upon when A&M was still in the Big 12.

I hope our short sighted administration doesn't try to weasel its way out of this. This is one of the best things for A&M, Arkansas, and the SEC. Jason Cook better not do anything stupid.

This came directly from Loftin's mouth tonight at dinner.

Of course, Jason could try to weasel his way out of it, who knows. Loftin presented this as it were new info.

This was the arrangement Jerry made both of us make to help with scheduling for 2012 and 2013. Extended contract with him for this series moving forward.

Jason Cook hired the AD and is right in the ear of Loftin. I'm not sure what a VP of Marketing is doing hiring an Athletic Director in the first place, but it is what it is.

Did he hire Sherman also?

I agree but I was very happy with the result so whatever. Regardless I think this would be Hyman and Loftin making the decision and I expected it to happen for awhile.

I've talked to Jason multiple times on this issue. He has always been incredibly in favor of moving the game back to a home and home. He doesn't like the game for whatever reason.

Hopefully Loftin did genuinely believe the game is quite possibly the greatest branding tool we could possibly have in the metroplex. Far greater than some stupid billboard. Maybe even Slive was in his ear. I haven't had a chance to talk to Hyman, maybe he sees the incredible value in it. Who knows.

I'm glad this is our official stance on it. I know Sumlin was asked about it at SEC media days and he spewed the exact rhetoric I've heard from Jason's mouth, so I have been extremely worried.

Much like every other major program in the country, head football coaches aren't hired by any employee of the school, they are hired by big money donors.

So just chalk it up to yet another bad investment by the money at aTm?

Sherman was a good investment. He rebuilt a program that was in worse shape than Tennessee is in now. The thing that made his failure last year so glaring was how talented of a team he assembled in his tenure, and how it under-performed in the clutch.

Sherman was more suited for Texas A&I, not A&M. He gets A&I.
