if we go to 9 game schedule with 16 teams and two divisions, couldnt we just play 7 division games and 2 cross division games. play everyone every 4 years. not sure whats so hard about that.

You are on crack!!!

There will never be 5 of the Big 6 in the same division. The conference is set up the way it is now for that reason. You have 3 in each division.

Taking two Oklahoma schools with the current revenue setup would be unthinkable. You add a small number of TVs and add two teams? That SECn money per achool would shrink. They'll just have to cut OSU.

I just don't know how slow you have to be to think that TAMU would go back to the XII. It simply ain't happening. And why would LSU leave the SEC? That is also retarded.

Why we want to go back to the Big Dumpster Fire Conference? Good grief texas takes the delusional attitude to a whole new level.

Winner, winner chicken dinner.

ou and okie lite bring ab-so-lute-ly NOTHING to the SEC. No TV's, no AAU and no recruiting. Plus, it's a package deal. It only makes sense if the SEC is going to a 20-team conference.

Heck, Mizzou already beats 'em in wrestling yearly.

In their mind, this is just a "phase" and we will be begging to come back as soon as they snap their fingers.

Will never happen. The SEC will go east to get to 16 teams. The two biggest criteria for new membership are population and academics.

Texas A&M will eventually go back to the Big 12 because that is where they belong. It is just a matter of time once the newest of the SEC wears off. Their closest road venue is Baton Rouge. After a couple of piss balloons 50% of their fan base will refuse to come again. This leaves the Miss schools as the next closest destination and that says it all. A&M is just to far west and isolated. Texas will do away with their dumb network. The Big 12 will start their own network and A&M will have their out. They will say the LHN is the reason they left and now they can return again.

I would compare this to UCLA leaving the Pac 12 and joining the Big 12. UCLA is mad b/c USC is kicking their arse in football every year so they leave. It would just be a matter of time before UCLA went back to the Pac 12 and play in conference games against the three other California schools. Like A&M for the Big 12, historically UCLA belongs in the PAC 12.

Where we belonged was the SWC, but that's dead now.

The Big 12 is nothing more than an extension of the Big 8, where we never belonged.

As for distance:

Manhattan, Kansas is 661 miles away from College Station
Lawrence, Kansas is 686 miles away from College Station
Columbia, Missouri is 761 miles away from College Station
Lincoln, Nebraska is 808 miles away from College Station
Ames, Iowa is 949 miles away from College Station
Boulder, Colorado is 969 miles away from College Station

Why do I put all of the original Big 12 north schools on there? Every year, A&M would travel to between 1-2 of those schools.

To put it in contrast:

Baton Rouge, LA is 366 miles away from College Station. That's closer than Lubbock, TX (426 miles), Stillwater, OK (436 miles), and only 9 miles further away than Norman, OK (357 miles)

The furthest away west opponent (Auburn) is 744 miles away, which is closer than all of the north opponents except the Kansas schools.

Tuscaloosa, Oxford, Starkville, and Fayetteville are ALL closer than every single Big 12 North school.

The ONLY opponent that A&M plays every year that is further away than all of its Big 12 opponents is South Carolina, which is less than 60 miles further from College Station than Boulder, Colorado.

Here's the kicker...Morgantown, WV is further away (1300+ miles) from College Station than any SEC school is from any other SEC school.

So, in closing, your argument fricking fails on all counts because you didn't think this through.

I agree we belonged in the SWC, while it was still good. But I'd choose the SEC even over that.

Yeah, playing UH, Rice, SMU each year and having a total of one non-Texas opponent (Arkansas) is a non starter. Throw Baylor, TCU and Tech in there too, as they are traditionally small to medium sized programs that throughout their history are more often bad at football than good at it...Nostalgia is the only thing to miss about the SWC, to this day its why there is this media generated narrative that Texas schools not playing one another is a crying shame. No other state gets that kind of pressure and expectation. The Cal schools in the Pac are the next closest I guess, but it would be like expecting UF, FSU, Miami, South Florida and Central Florida to play each year. Just not practical, nor something today's fans even really want to see (outside of the big 3 playing each other maybe).

Lobotomy, why don't you compare the driving distance from A&M to the Big 12 South schools and to the SEC west schools? What is the average distance? Very convenient for you leave the important driving distance out.

I have a feeling you won't do this.

He did actually.

He only omitted two. Austin and Waco. Both of which are less than 2 hours drive.

Tech and the Oklahoma Schools are next closest and several hours away.

What's your point? We'd go back because of Austin and Waco driving distances?

Yeah, that's not happening.

Why are you at it compare A&M's driving distance to Big 12 North vs the SEC east.

West Virginia was never in the Big 12 north division.

I love how you cherry pick facts and instead of showing the entire picture. I guess there is a reason you did this.
