Question for the former Big 12/SWC members.... if the conditions were perfect and every thing being equal (money equal and equally divided among schools, tv contracts ect) would you go back to the Big 12
I can't lie I would like to play Texass every year but for me I would say no. The atmosphere of the SEC is just different and more exciting week to week. For me it's not about the money it's about the experience I'm getting from the money I spend. From taigates to mesaage boards the SEC fans are more passionate about there teams, which makes for better experience.

The Big 12 is slowly imploding, and it knows it. Bill Snyder talked about Nebraska coming back earlier. Not going to happen.
If you look at the possible expansion teams.... Cincinnati? UCF? Can you imagine Texas and Oklahoma having these teams be their competition? It's unthinkable. It's only a matter of time before Kansas goes first, to the Big Ten, followed by Oklahoma to (yes), the SEC. Texas could survive as an independent. Oklahoma would play them annually, as would Notre Dame. Plus, it'd be kinda fun to have Texas with a flexible schedule.
What happens next? The Big 12 becomes what is now the AAC. The AAC becomes CUSA. CUSA becomes Sun Belt.

I thought this wasn't possible. Aren't OK and OKie State tied together? Do we want both?

I thought the series was about even.

We might as well take both. This isn't 2010 again. Our options are getting small. The ACC isn't losing anyone, we can get over that dream. It's much stronger today than it was back then, with FSU winning nationally again, Clemson being a consistent contender, Georgia Tech, ect.
I'm not sure if they're tied together, but Oklahoma would be a big enough grab to take Okie State.
Imagine these divisions... it's perfect.
West
Arkansas
LSU
Ole MIss
Mississippi State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M
East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

Cinci has had a good run recently. You seem so shocked that the mighty Texas or OU would play them, yet Texas and OU play the likes of Iowa St. and West Virginia every year already.

We would have pods if we went to 16.
And to the OP: no way in HELL would I want TAMU to ever go back to the XII. And I don't care if we ever play tu, Baylor, or Tech again.

If we go to a 9 game schedule, it'd be no different than it is now, really

I don't see what the SEC has to gain by adding Oklahoma without Texas. I get Texas and I get UVA or Va Tech and UNC or NC ST, but I don't get Oklahoma. Frankly I was good with 12 and I'm ok with 14. The reasoning behind Mizzou and TAM made sense and both have made contributions.

Was listening to Art Briles yesterday and he was talking about recruiting in the Southwest. He said he had major competition in recruiting the southwest against Texas, A&M and LSU. I think eventually you will see invitations extended to LSU and A&M for the Big 12.

Dear Lord, please get these guys off the oklahoma bandwagon.
Oklahoma adds DICKBUTT to the SEC. If OU were so attractive, the PAC or the B1G would have already made that move. There are no TVs in that state. Adding both schools would cause all other programs to lose at least $10 million in revenue.
Please stop with the OU talk. The are dependent on the fricking longhorns for their very existence and will never leave them.
