If they end up replacing Mack Brown, let's just hope it's not with Bobby-"you know who".

Doubtful.
If they're smart, they'll go after a Kevin Sumlin type of coach--young, fiery, and not full of himself. If for no other reason, they need a guy like that for recruiting purposes.
Now that they're saddled w the LHN, the horns are going to have a tough time finding an older, established coach who would be willing to put up w that crap.

I'm so glad this has happened.

Now the Ole Miss and Texas game will be hilarious no matter who wins.

As long as there's no Big XII refs, Ole Miss should win

Thought I heard somewhere that Texas will hire the best college coach in the country whoever that maybe, money no option.

But if Texas wins, hopefully they keep Mack.

This. I'm sort of rooting for the sips on this.

Petrino would wreck for a few years but his infamously crappy recruiting would open the door for the TCU/Baylor/Tech type upstarts to catch up in the long-term.

I hate it for Diaz. Dude was a good DC at State. His defense in Starkville was as good as I've seen. He was hired to fix a Mack Brown problem. There was no way he was going to be successful in Austin.

That and they use scape goats (coordinators) and never fire Mack. They are scared of letting him go I bet and he wants to keep coaching.

UT has some real problems but I have a feeling they'll come out strong against Landmass.

Their coaching hire replacement threads are pretty good too. Eerily familiar as well after reading Tennessee, Arkansas, and Auburn ones over the last couple years. They hit all the classics -- Gruden, Briles, Patterson, Strong, Kelly, etc.

Some -- but not all of them -- actually even believe they could get Saban. Here on SECr, people just troll for a reaction, but some of the Horn fans are dead serious.

One of the threads on there is asking what happened to UT between Sept 2010 and now. Someone in thread mentioned the Longhorn Network, and they're exactly right. If there was no LN, then ATM is still in conference and the status quo remains the same. The AD singlehandedly destroyed that program, and it could quite possibly be doomed for a generation. What an epic fall from grace, and it couldn't happen to a more delusional fan base.
