Cal's son, Ryan Ripken, was recruited by Holbrook and played for us for 1 year, before he decided to transfer to Indian River. He's now a minor league player in the Gulf Coast League for the Nationals.

Final: Cocks win 4-0, get the 3 game sweep.

Wow, huge weekend. Looking more and more legitimate.

First time SC has ever started out 6-0 in the SEC.

2 straight SEC sweeps cocks look to be mighty strong this year, hopefully we can get our shite together come this weekend if we keep batting like we did the last 3 days against SEC teams we're screwed.

I think we have @Vandy next weekend. A hell of a way to start the SEC schedule with Arkansas, @OM, and @Vandy. I'd hate to say it but just getting 1 in Nashville and 7-2 in the first 9 of the SEC would be a great start.

Not sure if it's just the way South Carolina and Ole Miss fans have respect for each other but this baseball thread has been ridiculously classy. A change of pace for the SECR.

It's because Dustin Johnson died .... we're pretty sure it was by his own hand.

Vandy is going to be more scared of us than we are of them right now ... we just need to take care of business against CofC and then win the first one at Vandy and put them on their heels.

That litle midget fella always seems to play well against us though ... my wife calls him Gary Coleman. I almost dread seeing him walk to the plate against us.

I've never been so glad that an Ole Miss poster was banned

Does anyone else see Chad Holbrook and immediately think of a league of their own? "Has anyone ever told you the you look like a penis with a hat on?"

I'm sure that he's been called worse but I kind of thought that he looks like a cross between a frog and a mushroom, whatever that looks like.

USC looks like they have a solid squad. Things should get interesting in the east with USC, Florida, and Vandy.

Is the backstop at Bama real or Baylor brick?

Shades of 2011 ... who knows. I think we finished 1, 2, 3 in the country that year and the entire All-CWS team was comprised entirely of SCAR, UF and Vandy players.

Yep, just checked ... LINK

But it's too early to tell about this season just yet, although SCAR is outta the gates well having swept two Top 10 teams thus far ... we're on the road again, at Vandy, next week, and that is gonna tell us a whole lot more.

That was just a helluva year for the SEC, particularly the East. Look at all the notables, first time accomplishments, that came outta 2011. LINK
