I'm for it. They aren't keeping an SEC winner out unless we have multiple losses.

Most years a two loss team is getting a nod.

Thus the dilemma. 10 is the best in terms of balance and rotation, but I understand the (valid) argument against it.

Nay

Do away with divisions and give every school 2 permanent opponents then rotate the schedule. The 2 teams with the best record play in the SECCG.

Pod System with Rotation:

Gets you through a home and away rotation in only four years. Maintains the essential rivalry games. Only 8 games necessary.

Allows you to play real games out of conference.

Can't have a pod system with 14 teams. You can have no divisions though if the NCAA passes the deregulation like they are expected to.

It doesn't matter what they call it. The SEC can dictate their own conference schedule and there's no oversight of those particulars by the NCAA I'm aware of.

Functionally the Pods are still two divisions each year, the only difference is the divisions don't remain the same every year.

9. I wish A&M's schedule every year was 9 SEC games, tu, one big time OOC opponent and one SMU type program.

you would rarely be over .500

Nope several other conferences have nine games because half of their conference games are against female opponents. Other than Vandy the SEC is really physical top to bottom.

Understand the Big 10 has gone to 9 games, but I noticed that they are rotating everyone for cross division games, with the exception that Indiana and Purdue will play every year. I haven't done the math, but wouldn't there be some way the SEC could arrange an 8 game schedule similarly with Bama/UT and UGA/AU playing every year, with the rest rotating? LINK

Mathematically won't work & here's why (taking out the 6 div. games):

Year 1
UGA - Aub./Ala.
UK - Ala./Ark

Year 2
UGA - Aub./Ark.
UK - Aub./LSU

Year 3
UGA - Aub./LSU
UK - Miss./MSU

Year 4
UGA - Aub./Miss.
UK - TA&M/Ala.

Year 5
UGA - Aub./MSU
UK - Ark./Aub.

Year 6
UGA - Aub./TA&M
UK - LSU/Miss.

Year 7
UGA - Aub./Ala.
UK - MSU/TA&M

In 7 years, UGA has played:
Ala. - 2
Aub. - 7
Ark. - 1
LSU - 1
Miss. - 1
MSU - 1
TA&M - 1

In 7 years, UK has played:
Ala. - 2
Aub. - 2
Ark. - 2
LSU - 2
Miss. - 2
MSU - 2
TA&M - 2

Ever heard of "The Roommate Switch"?
Lets you have a 14 team pod format.

I would prefer 16 teams with 4 pods of 4 though.

From UF's perspective, I would not want a 9 game SEC slate because of our already tough schedule due to having FSU every year.

I never complain about playing LSU yearly even though I don't care if we do or don't but playing 6 East games, LSU, perhaps AL, then FSU...that's a tough road physically.

Do away with the divisions. Just pick 3 permanents and 5 (or 6) rotators.

The divisions don't make a ton of sense as is anyways
