Im shocked. I thought and still think Singleton will end up in Starkville but I thought Brassell end up at Alabama or OM not MSU. He is a great player and will end up as a shut down CB IMO. Great pickup but it is still a long way to signing day.

Not sure if you Bears know this but, CJ Johnson, Jermaine Whitehead, Nick Brassell, Joe Morros, and Tobias Singleton are all really good friends who WANT to play together in College. Jermaine and CJ have been recruiting the heck out of Tobias and Snoop lately, and its just starting to pay off.
Both State and Ole Miss will have top 20 recruiting classes FWIW

Yeah that is important but high profile recruits, at the end of the day, do their own thing.
Brassell's commit was out of left-field. Literally no one saw it coming. That raises some flags if I were an MSU fan believing the verbal to be 100% solid.
Brassell is always around the OM program, (practices, camps, etc.) and OM usually gets what it wants out of Batesville. There are obviously some strange things happening regarding his recruitment, but I doubt it's over until NSD.

The only strange thing going on is that Mississippi State is winning this year and is ranked in the top 25, and Ole Miss isn't.
Brassell's friends and now his teammate have all committed to Mississippi State, and he decided to join them there I dont really see whats so odd or strange about that.

I guess we will all see what happens in February. Until then, good luck to both teams.

Somebody said something about Pat Patterson early in this thread. Just saw where somebody reported that he was dismissed from EMCC. Talk about a train wreck.

We were pulling in Top 25 classes when we sucked during O's tenure.

He has reopened his recruitment per Yancy. He is friends with most of the top talent in MS.

I still tell all my State friends Whitehead will end up at Ole Miss. I'll probably do the same with Brassell.

SP coach says Brassell and Market are NOT committed
per Toddy Kelly's blog at Clarion-Ledger
Just got off the phone with South Panola coach Lance Pogue to follow up on reports Dandy Dozen receiver Nickolas Brassell and standout defensive back Kendrick Market had committed to Mississippi State over the weekend.
Pogue said neither player was committed.
"They're both interested in whatever schools are interested in them," Pogue said Monday afternoon about 1:45. "They plan to take their visits."
What did Pogue make of quotes from Brassell — the state's No. 1 preseason prospect by both Rivals.com and Scout.com — that he had committed to MSU?
"I really don't know," said Pogue, whose defending Class 6A champions are ranked No. 1 nationally by Rivals. "Just teenagers being teenagers sometimes. They've told me they're interested in any schools that show interest in them."
Brassell's long list of scholarship offers includes MSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma and USC.

Well Brassell obviously told some people he was a Dawg though right?

I refuse to get my hopes up about verbal commits until Michael Wardlaw or Paul Jones confirms it.(which neither have)I believe this thing is about to get ugly.Maybe they will get restraining orders on Yancy

No clue. These are freaking 17 or 18 year old kids. No telling what they are saying or thinking

Big arse fail on the Scout football recruiting homepage.

that coach is being extremely vague.

This is why I don't follow recruiting until one week before NSD.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rosebowl fricked this up for us.
