Because there's a shite load of poor people in California? But USC alums aren't. Are you really using toll and registration costs as examples of college wealth?? Sorry you and the posters who up voted you have to take toll roads to work every day.

Don't know why that's popcorn worthy. Revenue is the important number in ADs.
You really don't want your AD to have a profit because you want to maximize revenues with expenses. What would you need profit for in an AD? Not like you're paying shareholders dividends.

while the same teams are in the hunt every year the dollar amount varies substantially. for example tejas aggies are number one this year because of huge "pledges" for their stadium renovation. there needs to be stricter guidelines on what income is allowed.

I would be curious were you got that list from because our AD literally just sent out an email to donors saying we meet all those criteria.

Breathe.

I wasnt aware we were talking about alumis or colleges specifically. I thought the thread had wondered into the State/government realm. Forgive me, if Californians are capable of such dignified human traits of graciousness and magnanimity.

Based on that number, Arkansas probably handles this the same way A&M does. Athletic scholarships are given in-state tuition rates and the delta for OOS tuition is passed through as a "subsidy."

It doesn't matter how much money you have or make, that pass through exists. It's just accounting really.

Clemson can copy everything Auburn except the money apparently.

Auburn clearly deals in millions, while the other one has a fringe fetish with lesser denominations of currency.

ounting a large one time gift to the athletic program for A&M is pretty disingenuous

1) I don't know what you're talking about.

2) Taking away a one-time (or two, or three-time) gift(s) to the athletic programs would probably completely shuffle up that list.

Leaving out donations is bogus.

California universities are full of foreign born Asians who care zero about football.
