How many sharks were harmed in the filming of the celebration in the OP?

Harris going down destroyed our secondary. Gardner is an elite talent. Dawson is SEC caliber but not a stand out player...other than that...question marks. We will have a really strong run stopping defense though.

Hell, their current coach has a losing record against SCAR. They like to pretend that isn't the case and focus on ancient history to stroke their egos.

We pretend that isn't the case? Interesting. I've never seen anyone, anywhere say anything of the sort. Hard to argue with facts.

What's Boom's record against Clemson, by the way? Probably pretty good since you brought up current coach's records and all.

Uh? That depth chart was insane with talent it was just young( That DE class had Harvey, Dunlap, Cunningham,

DE-Derrick Harvey Carlos Dunlap-
DT-McMillan
DT-Estopinan
DE-Cunningham
LB-AJ Jones
LB-Brandon Spikes
LB-Dustin Doe
CB-Joe Haden,Ahmad Black
CB- Marikhe Anderson
FS- Major Wright
SS- Tony Joiner

This defense was way more talented than this current one. None of our DEs have come close to being stars now. DT depth is better you're right but the secondary then had more talent. All this years secondary has is Gardner and dawson and a bunch of guys who've done nothing or are freshman. LB corps are almost identical imo.

Dude the 07 secondary was hot garbage. You are looking at it now, in the present. THEN, it sucked. You have no clue how any of the young guys will end up being on the team, so to compare by what the 07 became later, to what the team is right now, before the young guys can prove themself, is unfair.

07 Pierre Louis started at Corner. The worst corner I have seen at UF in a long time. The DT were at best average, the LB's besides Spikes were okay but not great. You are deluding that team a bit because they became elite. They weren't in 07.

Dude that team became good. But in that year they were hot garbage. Justin trattou played a lot more that season at de than Dunlap. Mike pouncey was starting at dt late in the year. That defense had 0 depth. Everyone that played played because there was literally no one else.

We are replacing most of our secondary and our anchor at linebacker. Top 7 defense is a little much

I think the defense will be better this season even with replacing a bunch. Devin White and Donnie Alexander can be just as good as Beck and Duke. KT2 looks much improved and should slide into White's role well. Delpit/Harris/Paris may not be Jamal Adams but they'll be good enough to not be a liability. The DL should be solid as well with a much improved Gilmore and Lac returning.

I won't disagree with you but most LSU fans crucify us for making this statement even though we are usually right. I don't think our defense will be better than last year fwiw.

Well I say that not only because we're reloading talent this year but because the scheme will be fully implemented. It was only against Louisville that we saw the defense that Aranda ran at Wisconsin with all of the creating blitzing. We were still running a hybrid 4-3 until Missouri and it was very vanilla when they ran 3-4.

I actually do agree with you. LSU is definitely gonna have a salty defense.

So will Alabama.

At least we'll have a competent OC this season who should at least give Bama something to think about.

Lol if ancient history was beating Scar's pathetic arse by 49 in November, then you are completely right.

The highlight of your school's football history is beating Clemson 5 years in a row. Hahahahahahahaha

History and all that SEC tradition that you are pumping don't mean shite when you get on the field. It's really cool to look back on, don't get me wrong, but some of y'all take that shite too far and think it means something when the players get on the field.

Maybe you didn't realize it TJ, but after our BCS team in 06 we were decimated on defense and 07 showed it. But to Charley Strongs credit in 08 we were pretty damn stout....mostly with sophs BTW. I honestly thought the defense would still be a year away in 09.

Tebow won the Heisman because he carried the team on his shoulders.

Flash forward to 2017 and I see some of the same. We played so many frosh on defense because of injuries last year that those frosh are now sophs and have a lot of talent...Resse and Joseph at LB will show the goods and I think a frosh who was injured in 16 and was r/sed, LB Moon will surprise folks. Nick Washington is very experienced at S and with Dawson & Gardner we can play some football..Marcell Harris will get another year in 2018 and its a shame...he also had to wait his turn for more PT...so just because a player or two hasn't been exactly elite..I feel some will become that this year.

Don't forget special teams...we will be one of the top 3 in the country.

Clemson lost a safety and a corner, return the other two starters. And the backups in the secondary played a ton in big games, the entire second half against Ohio State, and 3 quarters against Scar. So they have experience, watch out for the name Tanner Muse.

Lost one linebacker, Boulware. That was the one that everybody says is too slow and can't cover, so that shouldn't be hard to replace lol Tre Lamar, Shaq Smith and Jamie Skalski will step in there, Lamar played a lot of snaps against Bama if you recall he's #57.

I don't think they were scored on at will, but they did give up a lot of points. But at the same time, they shut out Ohio State and made some huge plays on 3rd and 4th down when the game was on the line. A lot of the guys that made those plays are back

Not only this, but our DL should be stacked as frick this year, for the first time in a while. That will help the rest of the D out, especially early on when our young guys are settling in.
