Congrats, you squeaked by that shitty team and then ended up with the same record as that shitty team. We both wanted our coaches fired last year and LSU fired theirs. The hire wasn't impressive but you're retarded if you think Ed O is going to have the same results as he did at Ole Miss.

It was on us for not being prepared and on les for not having us ready once again in a critical time management situation. Bottom line is if we would have been ready a second before we were and snapped the ball we win the game...but we didnt and it was our own fault. This is was the nail in the coffin for les. Just too much incompetence too many times that costed us games.

You're retarded if you think that Orgeron is going to magically become competent at managing a program and achieve anything above mediocrity.

LSU should never been allowed to run that last play. Should have been a clock run off for breaking the rules on the previous play.

Did they ever explain why the game didn't end after the penalty on the offense? The 10 second runoff rule is intended to prevent an offense frOM having a "do over". I'm sure there's a reason but I don't know what it is.

It should have been a run off and there was movement on the last play. There was so many things wrong with that series, its pathetic.

Think about the things that make it different from a false start and you'll find your answer

LSU would have had plenty of time to get set on the last play if it was called correctly on the field (0:02 or 0:03 remaining)

The 10-second rule does not apply if the game clock is not running when the foul occurs or if the foul does not cause the game clock to stop immediately (e.g., illegal formation).

Penalties that don't cause the clock to stop immediately (like illegal formation or illegal shift) would include any penalties that don't require the play to be blown dead as soon as the foul occurs. I'm not sure why you are confused.

If Aranda and Canada are as good as LSU fans are pumping them up to be, then then it won't be long before they've moved on. But Orgeron will still be there.

Exactly. So every two years, we'll be bringing in a new OC or DC, and O will have bought himself two more years to get the system installed and the players comfortable in it. This hire was the equivalent of Auburn or Alabama hiring Kevin Steele as HC.

The only thing that counts is he took over two preseason top 5 teams after their coaches were fired, and lead them each to 6-2 records. He turned those programs around!! H

How does one turn around a top 5 team? He lost the 2 games played vs teams that good. There's a reason the teams were top 5, because they had a lot of talent. All he did was rah rah, won the games a monkey as the head coach could have won and lost to the only two teams worth a damn and he needed to beat to make post season. But because he's a Cajun and had fan support, plus all the other candidates turned down LSU and Captain Caveman got the job. It will be fun watching the melts

And LSU did them all.

Yet some of them still think they "won".

Exactly the point, but the LSU fans who support the hire will say this until they're blue in the face.

Yup. Lost to a Florida team that was a 14 point underdog, missing half of their defensive starters, with the Sugar Bowl on the line. And never got close to scoring against Bama.

He put on a hell of a marketing campaign, and dumbasses across south Louisiana bought it. I mean, come on, the first thing he did when he got the interim job is hire a local radio personality to be his "special assistant." When he got the interim tag dropped, a lot of the talk was "He's the best hire for LSU. Nobody else could come into Louisiana and be as successful as O." Les had never coached in Louisiana before he was hired. Saban either. Hell, O has only coached inside the state of Louisiana for maybe 5 years of his 30 or so years coaching. ETA: He was a GA at Northwestern St in 1984, GA at Mcneese in 85, LB coach at Nicholls in 94, then didn't coach in LA again until he was the Saints DL coach in 08. Now he's been at LSU the past two years. So 6 years since 1984...

Also, they only seriously talked to Jimbo and Herman. Jimbo was offered $7.5 million for 5 years, but played hardball and wanted 10 years. Personally, I would've given it to him. I think Jimbo has 10 good years left in the tank. Herman was good at Houston, but I don't think there was a chance in hell that he was turning down Texas once they came calling. Alleva supposedly started the search behind the scenes in September, and O was what he came up with. Pathetic.

Correct. You Don't want to play any team from Alabama, in their stadium - period. Home cooking at it's finest.

Auburn may be worse than Bama, if you ignore the 'no calls' on holding in Bryant Denny Stadium.

Don't have a link. Just watch the end of the 2013 Iron Bowl. The exact same thing happened at the end of that game.

That's the one thing that didn't go wrong for LSU on that play. It was close, but he wasn't across.

Damn, lots of good points.

I know I give LSU shite on here especially on the Oeauxno hire, I mean come on, LsU should have been able to hire someone a lot more qualified or with a better resume.

Heck he may shock a lot of his doubters but for what's he's being paid LSU got bent over. Should have got him for half that amount, especially since the whole talk is about letting coordinators run the shows, so he's gonna rah rah for close to 4mil.
